POSITIONS OPEN FOR TEMPORARY RESEARCH PROJECT POSTS

Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (IGIB), desires to engage qualified incumbents on purely temporary basis as detailed below:
PROJECT TITLE/ CODE: Etiology of rheumatoid arthritis-An exploratory study of the diagnostic potential of phosphoproteomics" (Project Code: GAP0078)
1. POST :Project Assistant
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: First class M.Sc. in Biotechnology
DESIRABLE: Research experience in proteomics and Molecular Biology
AGE LIMIT: 30 years
STIPEND: Rs. 19,481/- per month
TENURE: One year
2. POST: Lab Attendant
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Graduate in any area.
DESIRABLE: Six months of experience in scientific lab.
AGE LIMIT: 28 years
STIPEND: Rs. 9,896/- per month
TENURE: One Year
PROJECT TITLE/ CODE: "Screening for antimicrobial peptides & bioactive molecules from microbial diversity of forest ecosystem of NE India: A novel approach for development of antibiotics against multi-drug resistance pathogens (DBT Twinning Programme for NER)" (Project Code: GAP0085)
1. POST: JRF (Project)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: First class M.Sc. in Microbiology/Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Genomics
DESIRABLE: Two years of Research experience in Microbiological/ Molecular Biology techniques
AGE LIMIT: 28 years
STIPEND: Rs. 16,000/- + 30% HRA per month
TENURE: One Year
2. POST: Research Associate
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Ph.D in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Genomics/ Molecular Biology
DESIRABLE: Experience in Molecular Microbiology/ Next generation sequencing/ Microbial Ecology/Metagenomics
AGE LIMIT: 35 years
STIPEND: Rs. 22,000/- + 30% HRA per month
TENURE: One Year
PROJECT TITLE/ CODE: “Molecular mechanisms by which metastasis suppressor, Non Metastatic 2 (NME2) interacts with telomeres: potential connection between metastatic progression and telomerase activity"(Project Code: GAP0077)
1. POST: Post Doctoral Fellow
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Biomed Sciences/Life sciences(Ph.D. thesis submitted may also apply)
DESIRABLE: Relevant experience in analysis of high-throughput next generation sequencing data , working knowledge of molecular and cellular biology techniques
AGE LIMIT: 38 years
STIPEND: Rs. 40,000/- per month
TENURE: One year
Age relaxation for SC/ST/ OBC candidate as per Govt. of India instruction.
Engagement is for the project and on behalf of the funding agency and the tenure shall be as mentioned above. The duration of the post is initially for one Year or till the closing date of the project, which ever is earlier. Tenure may be extendable up to project duration. Contract may be terminated any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any CSIR/IGIB post.

The eligible applicant can apply for maximum of two projects and the candidate has to email their resume in "MS word" format directly to hrd@igib.res.in by 28-01-12. No application would be entertained with "result awaited" status or after due date.
(In subject line of the email please mention: "<Project Code> application for <Post Name>Feb 2012" example: GAP0078 application for Project Assistant Feb 2012 ). Kindly write correct project code and format otherwise application will not reach to the concern department.
The email will be sent to the short listed candidates.
No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates to attend the interview. The engagement shall be as per guidelines of CSIR/Funding agency. Candidates will have option to give reply in Hindi.
Note: The shortlisted candidates, who have received the email for interview, have to report at 09:30 AM for interview along with any Photo ID card and original certificates for entry purpose. Entry will be closed by 10:15 AM.
