XXVII Certificate Course in Wildlife Management
Wildlife Institute is an internationally acclaimed autonomous institution under the Ministry of  Environment & Forests, Government of India. Capacity building has always been seen as a means of empowerment for strengthening conservation of biological diversity. Accordingly, to provide a foundation of basic concepts of wildlife science and to impart appropriate knowledge on wildlife conservation issues and challenges, a 3-month Certificate Course in Wildlife Management beginning 1st November is being organized.
The course offers opportunities of interaction with peers, experience sharing with Protected Area managers and practical learning. It involves visit to various protected areas for field exposure and interactive classroom teaching. The course covers subjects ranging from introduction to wildlife species and habitats, population ecology and management, wildlife health, human dimensions and application of tools and techniques in population estimation and monitoring of wild animal.
The course is open to Indian and Foreign nationals below the age of 40 years.
ELIGIBILITY: Indian and Foreign nationals having Graduate Degree in Biological Sciences/Forestry/Environmental Science are eligible to apply.
 COURSE FEE: Rs. 1,68,000 for Indian nationals and US $ 3,625 for foreign nationals. It includes boarding and lodging, field gear and equipment for the entire duration of the course.

Current Techniques and Protocols in Plant Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
The Centre of Advanced Faculty Training, Division of Biochemistry, IARI, New Delhi is going to organize a short-term (21 days) training course on “Current Techniques and Protocols in Plant Biochemistry and Molecular Biology” w.e.f. 8th December, 2011 to 28th December, 2011 (for 21 days) for the scientists and teachers of the ICAR institutes and Agricultural Universities.
The eligibility qualifications prescribed for the participants are: Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and equivalent scientists (Scientists, Sr. Scientist & Principal Scientist) working in Agricultural Universities and ICAR Institutes in the disciplines of Plant Biochemistry/Agricultural Biochemistry/Plant Molecular Biology/Biotechnology and related disciplines. The applicants must possess at least three years of teaching/research experience.
The selected candidates will be paid travel expenses as per entitlement restricted however, to the maximum of AC II Tier/actual as the case may be. The participants will be lodged in the Guest House and expenses on boarding & lodging shall be met by us as per ICAR norms.

ABOUT THE THEME
The Northeast India is a genetic treasure house of plant, animal and microbial resources. There is still a lot to do for complete realization of the inherent economic potential of these bio-resources. The inputs from biochemical and biotechnological research findings must be applied for efficient management of these bio-resources, their production, processing and value addition. The seminar is expected to provide a platform for exchange of ideas among the researchers or teachers of universities, colleges and research institutes of the country on the aforesaid topic. This will help in the development of entrepreneurial spirit of the qualified and skilled young people of the region to start bio-resource based commercial ventures which will lead to sustainable rural development in this part of the country.

 CALL FOR PAPERS
 Abstract of research paper are invited from researchers from their original research work in any of the sub themes mentioned above.
The abstract should be prepared in MS word (WINDOWS 2003/2007), Times New Roman letters, double space, 12 font size and in A4 size paper.
The abstract should be within 200 words and contain objective, methodology, findings and conclusion.
The hard copies of abstract should reach the Organizing Secretary on or before 15-10-2011 and full paper on or before 22-10-11.

Presented papers will be selected and full paper will be published in the form of proceeding.

Limited number of accommodation will be made available at Guest House, Hotel and Lodge on first come first serve basis on prior request and advance payment. The hotel rent ranges between Rs. 500 to Rs. 1500 per day.

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences of the National Institutes of Health is searching for a senior investigator qualified for tenured appointment to direct its Clinical Research Program, which includes an on-site Clinical Research Unit in Research Triangle Park and components at the Clinical Research Center in Bethesda, Maryland.  The primary duty station is Research Triangle Park, NC, with 2-3 days per month (typically day trips) spent in Bethesda, MD.  NIEHS supports and conducts research that contributes to the basic understanding of biological and chemical processes, the contributions of environmental agents to human disease and dysfunction, and the underlying mechanisms of environmentally associated diseases.  The Director, Clinical Research Program, is responsible for the development, administration, coordination and oversight of investigator-initiated clinical research; provides general advice to the Director and Scientific Director, NIEHS, on matters relating to human and clinical studies; supervises the Office of Research Compliance; and develops policies and programs for the execution of clinical research at NIEHS.  The Clinical Director is responsible for creating and maintaining a research environment in which clinical findings influence the direction of laboratory studies and laboratory findings are applied back to the clinical and clinical research communities.  The incumbent will facilitate intramural clinical research by identifying opportunities for translating basic science into clinical studies.  The Clinical Director will ensure that Institute research reflects the highest standards of scientific excellence and ethical conduct for the protection of human subjects.  The incumbent will review matters pertaining to the provision of patient care in research protocols and oversee resource allocation, scientific review, and recruitment of staff.   The Clinical Director will provide advice and training on the conduct of clinical studies, facilitate clinical research collaborations between intramural and extramural investigators, and develop long-range clinical research goals and objectives relevant to the mission of NIEHS.
The Director, Clinical Research Program, position is administratively located in the Office of the Scientific Director, and it is expected that the successful candidate will oversee a personal clinical research program that will involve some combination of outpatient oriented studies within the Clinical Research Unit, epidemiological studies, basic laboratory studies, or inpatient studies at the Clinical Research Center in Bethesda.  Emphasis will be placed upon investigators with a primary research interest in clinical research; however, the selected candidate may have a modest independent basic laboratory research program, particularly if the basic research intersects with the candidate’s clinical studies. 
Candidates must have an established and nationally or internationally recognized record in the conduct and supervision of clinical research in a discipline relevant to the environmental health sciences.  Candidates should also have an established record of experience with clinical training, institutional review boards, and compliance with current clinical safety and regulatory issues.  Candidates must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) in the year of the applicant's graduation. Candidates with a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a non-LCME accredited medical school must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or hold a Fifth Pathway certificate issued prior to December 31, 2009. Terms & Conditions of Offer of Engagement for the Project Assistant
1. It is not an offer of appointment in CDRI/CSIR, temporary or otherwise. It is a contract coterminous with the Project. It would, therefore, not confer any right implicit or explicit for your consideration for regularization/absorption in any of the Labs./Instts. Of CSIR or under any other scheme as applicable to identified casual workers against any of CSIR posts, even if engagement/contract or  deployment/placement is for more than 240/206 days in a year.
2. Your engagement as Project Assistant is for the Project as mentioned above is for a period of One Year/termination of the project which as earlier from the date of joining and co-terminus, with the present Project or till such time the job performed by you in the Project exist and your engagement is specifically extended by Director, whichever is earlier. Your tenure as Project Assistant shall not exceed five years in any circumstances. The total tenure of five years shall be calculated as per period you spent on one  project and/or different project taken together in CDRI or any other Lab./Instt. of CSIR and Project Assistant or any other designation of equal status.
3. Your will be paid consolidated emoluments of Rs. 10,000/-(fixed) per month.
4. No traveling allowance will be admissible to you for reporting on duty.
5. No automatic shifting is allowed from one project to another project.
6. You will not be allowed to discontinue your engagement without seeking prior approval of the Director, CDRI. In case you wish to discontinue the engagement prior to completion of your tenure, you must submit one month’s prior notice indicating specific reasons for not continuing or deposit one month’s emoluments/stipend in lieu of the notice period. The engagement shall cease from the date stipulated by the Director while accepting the resignation. You may discontinue from the Project work by deopsiting one month’s consolidated amount in lieu thereof without assigning any reason and will have no right against CSIR in any circumstances.
7. You will not divulge any information relating to the work of CDRI, which you may come to know during your engagement with CDRI to any party.
8. Your engagement will be subjected to the production of the following documents at your own expense at the time of your reporting of duty.
• Medical Certificate of health and physical fitness for service issued by the Resident Medical Officer/Lady Medical Officer of CSIR Dispensary or the Competent Authority where there is no CSIR Dispensary.
• Documentary evidence in support of your date of birth and qualifications.
• Attestation forms (duly completed), Character Certificate, countersigned by the District Magistrate/Sub-divisional Magistrate in the enclosed form.
9. The Director, CDRI whose decision shall be final and binding on both the parties to the contract, shall determine any matter not specifically stated therein.
10. You will not be allowed for Ph. D registration.
