Requirement of a Technical Officer in the Project Management Unit (PMU) of MNRE

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, is implementing a World Bank  assisted Project on “Scaling up Deployment of Renewable Energy Technology for Promoting Innovative Business Models.” The key objective of this project is to support preparation of sustainable and replicable business models that are entrepreneur driven and delivery based for providing energy solutions to rural areas using renewable energy technologies across India. A Project Management Unit (PMU) has been established in the Ministry for implementation of this Project.

2. Applications are invited for engaging One “Technical Officer” as non-official (temporary) Consultants in the PMU on contract basis on consolidated monthly fee upto Rs. 120,000 depending upon educational qualification and experience. The last date for receipt of applications is 30.11.2011. Application of the candidates not meeting the requirements will be summarily rejected.

3. The essential requirements of the job (Terms of Reference) are given at Annexure-I. Terms and conditions of the job are as follows -:

i) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Professionals having Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mech. / Electrical Engineering or PG Diploma in Rural Energy / Management from a recognized University or equivalent; and
• Sound knowledge of clean energy sector, and awareness of state level policy and regulatory framework.
• Minimum of 5 years experience preferably in planning and implementation of Renewable Energy based off-grid / distributed generation projects in rural areas.

II) DESIRABLE

Good academic record, experience in collection, compilation and analysis of data of data, computer skills and preparation of project reports, reviews notes, power point presentation, etc.

III) PERIOD OF ENGAGEMENT

The initial term of appointment shall be for one year. This can be extended maximum up to the duration of the project depending upon the performance of the candidate and requirements for the specific job in PMU.

iv) AGE LIMIT

The maximum age limit for applying for the post shall be 50 years.

V) ENTITLEMENTS FOR THE CONSULTANT

The maximum amount of monthly consolidated fee payable shall be upto Rs. 1,20,000 depending upon educational qualification and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Executing field, laboratory and glasshouse experiments relevant to agriculturally beneficial microorganisms (particularly isolation, characterization and identification of antifungal actinomycetes)

·         Testing various delivery systems for effective management of soilborne plant pathogens.

·         Maintain and update electronic databases and statistical analysis of experimental data.

·         Assist the scientist in the preparation of technical reports.

·         Any other responsibility that may be assigned by the scientist in furtherance of the cause of the institute.   

REQUIREMENTS:

·         M Sc (Plant Pathology/Microbiology/Botany/Plant Biotechnology) with at least one year experience in biocontrol aspects of plant pathogens

·         Good proficiency in English communication skills (both written and spoken)

PERIOD AND REMUNERATION:
The position is on a fixed term contract basis for 3 years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation as permitted by DBT is offered for the right candidate.
