University of Copenhagen
POSITION: Bioinformatics postdoc in group working on Epigenetics, Stem Cells and Cancer
A 3-years postdoctoral position is available in the group of Prof. Kristian Helin at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. Research in the group is focused on identifying novel mechanisms and genes involved in the development of human cancer. In the recent years, the group has made several outstanding contributions to the field of Epigenetics and Cancer.
AREA OF RESEARCH
For our ongoing efforts to understand the molecular mechanisms leading to cancer, we are currently analyzing the function of several transcription factors, chromatin remodeling complexes and "epigenetic enzymes". This involves the generation of large sets of high-throughput sequencing data based on techniques such as ChIP-seq, RNA-seq and genome sequencing. As our bioinformatics postdoc, you will be working closely with a group of biologists and be involved in design of projects and analysis of data. Moreover, you will have the possibility to closely interact with scientists and staff at the Bioinformatics center, situated in the same building as BRIC.
QUALIFICATIONS
If you have a PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics and related fields and are highly motivated and ambitious, we encourage you to apply. You should also have excellent skills in both programming and communication and have a strong interest in interacting with biologists.
PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT AND WORK
The employment is at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. BRIC is located close to the centre of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a young, dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and a number of core facilities shared between the 20 research groups at BRIC and the neighbor Finsen laboratory.
