JOB DESCRIPTION / EXPERIENCE: The incumbent should be well versed with organ isolation and cell cultures, preferably from testicular tissue. He/she should have sound knowledge about gametogenesis, cell transplantation. He/She should be well versed with cellular events in signal transduction and techniques of immuno histochemistry, PCR, Real time PCR. The candidate should also have experience of handling rats and mouse.

EMOLUMENTS: Rs. 18,000/- plus 30% HRA

Immunopathogenesis of Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory Syndrome in HIV Infection

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the HIV Pathogenesis Unit (HPU) within the Clinical and Molecular Retrovirology Section of the Laboratory of Immunoregulation. The HPU is involved in translational research of the pathogenesis of HIV infection with a focus on Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory Syndrome (IRIS) involving in vitro modeling and work with clinical samples. Current goals include the study of pathways involved in the inflammatory responses of IRIS and the cell subsets responsible for the pathology. Interested candidates should have a PhD or MD/PhD degree and less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: M.Sc. in Microbiology / Medical Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry or any other branch of Life Sciences / M. tech in Biotechnology from a recognized university / institute with a consistent first class academic record above 60% and relevant research experience as evidenced from thesis / dissertation carried out in a reputed scientific institution.

DESIRABLE: Hands on experience with Mycobacterium tuberculosis and basic microbiology techniques. Practical experience in gene cloning, protein isolation and characterization will be an added qualification.
