Out of the above 5 posts, two posts will be filled up by Persons with Disability of the category of
“Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy” (Orthopedically Handicapped) who have a minimum of 40%

Minimum and Essential Qualification: SSC / 10th standard with Science subjects with 55% marks plus 2 years duration Diploma in Pharmacy OR National /State trade certificate in Pharmacy OR 2 years full time experience as Hospital Pharmacist including period of apprentice training from a recognized medical institution / hospital / dispensary.
Desirable: Candidates with working knowledge of computer would be preferred.
Job Requirement: To work as Hospital Pharmacist at NIO dispensary. The selected person is responsible for issuing medicines at NIO dispensary The daily work also includes activities related to NIO dispensary such as monitoring of stocked medicines, Indenting and recording of new medicines and any other task assigned by Medical Officer from time to time. The dispensary working hours on  all week days are from 0830 to 1230 hours in the forenoon and 1630 to 1900 hours in the evening andon all Saturdays from 0830 to 1230 hours. The candidate should attend to emergency health calls/render medical help after normal working hours/during nights/holidays as and when required as part of regular duty.

Job Requirement: To assist in the maintenance and inventory of geological sample holdings in the  three major repositories of the institute. The selected candidate should also undertake periodical preventive maintenance works in the bulk samples repository and any other tasks assigned related to  his/her work/any other work as assigned by higher authorities.

Candidates having experience in Data Entry operation or computer based office environment or database management with keen interest to learn new applications is preferred.
Job Requirement: To work in the office by using the customized computer applications involving Data Entry, Database Management and other Office Automation Processes. The selected candidate should also assist in routine office works and should have the ability to learn the new computer application usage.


Age Relaxations:
1. For the posts reserved for O.B.C.s, the upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years beyond the prescribed age limit, as on the closing date for receipt of application i.e 19/09/2011 as per Government of India Orders.
2. Relaxation of upper age limit for Persons with Disabilities up to 10 years is admissible (total 13 years for O.B.Cs) as per Government of India Orders.
3. Age relaxation for ex-servicemen and the meritorious sportspersons will be made applicable as per G.O.I. Rules.
4. Age relaxation for both departmental and outside candidates, if any, will be allowed in case of exceptionally meritorious candidates with prior approval of DG, CSIR, New Delhi.
5. Relaxation of 5 years will also be permissible to those who had ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1.1.1980 to 31.12.1989, subject to production of relevant certificate from concerned authority.

3. Candidate should paste (not staple or pin) his/her recent photograph on the application form. 4. The date for determining the age limit/experience/qualifications shall be the last date fixed for receipt of completed application forms.
5. The period of relevant experience shall be counted only after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualification. Such experience should be in the relevant area/field indicated against the particular post(s).
6. The minimum essential educational qualification prescribed against each post is compulsory even if a candidate has some other higher qualifications. Also the mere possession of the same will not entitle the candidates for interview / selection. In case of large number of applicantsulfilling minimum and essential qualification, the official Screening Committee will adopt its own criteria for shortlisting the candidates and may prioritize the applicants further by using other criteria such as academic/technical performance, relevance of work experience if any, type of educational institutions and recommend most suitable applicants for personal interview. The  candidates should, therefore, furnish documentary evidence in support of educational/technicalqualifications with mark sheets, etc. and relevant experience, if any, along with the applications.
7. Candidates belonging to reserved category of OBC must submit an attested photocopy of the latest certificate in the prescribed form issued by the Competent Authority Empowered to Issue such Certificates (Like SDO / District Magistrate / Dy. Commissioner) as per the Government of India orders, along with the application form. As for OBC certificates, both the conditions of OBC status as well as exclusion from ‘Creamy Layer” is to be met. In addition to the certificate issued by the competent authorities, the OBC candidates have to give declaration before the interview that they belong to the recognized OBC castes and also do not belong to persons/sections (Creamy Layer) on the crucial date i.e. the closing date for receipt of applications as per GOI orders. It may please be noted that the appointment to the reserved posts will be provisional and subject to the verification of caste certificate through proper channels. If the verification reveals that the claim of the candidates to belong to OBC or not to belong to creamy layer is false, his/her services will be terminated forthwith without assigning any further reasons and without prejudice to such further action as may be taken under the provisions of the Indian Penal Coe for production of false certificate”. for producing OBC Certificate and the Declaration referred to above are attached. The OBC certificate should be only the prescribed form – certificate in any other format is not acceptable.
8. The Persons with Disabilities should submit the Disability Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed form as per Government of India orders. The said prescribed form is also attached. Only such persons would be eligible for P.W.D. reservations for the categories of “Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy” who suffer from not less than 40% relevant disability as per the Disability Certificate. Relaxation in age-limit for PWD is given above. The Relaxation of standards will be like this – “If sufficient number of Persons with Disabilities are not available on the basis of general standard to fill all the vacancies reserved for them, candidates belonging to these categories may be selected under the relaxed standard of selection to fill up the remaining vacancies reserved for them provided they are not found unfit for such post(s).”. 9. Selected candidates are liable to be posted initially at locations specified against each post. However, the incumbents are transferable to any of the Regional Centres of NIO based at Kochi,Mumbai and Visakhapatnam or to HQ at Goa as the case may be.
10. Applications received from candidates working in Govt./Semi Govt. Departments and Public Sector Undertakings and government funded research agencies will be considered only if forwarded through proper channel and with a clear certificate that the applicant will be relieved of his/her duties within one month of receipt of the appointment order, if selected for the post applied for. 11. Introduction

BIC is organizing a workshop with theme revolving around bioactive peptides. Bioactive peptides are likely to have applications as antimicrobials, antivirals, pharmaceuticals, antiinflammatories, anticancers etc. A few research groups  at IMTECH are currently engaged in research on such properties of peptides. Peptides certianly have advantage as drugs of choice for treament of various diseases. Computational approaches can offer a platform for quick and easy way to design and model peptides, thus, reducing time and resources before approaching bench.

Aim of Workshop

The aim of this workshop is to familiarize participants with experimental as well as in silico approaches including prediction, modeling and molecular simulations, designing of peptides etc. The workshop will also include exploitation of properties of unusual amino acids and their retro-inverso nature.
