OBJECTIVES
Exposure to various tools and techniques in Bioinformatics, Database development and languages.
COURSE CONTENTS OF THE TRAINING COURSE: Basics of biotechnology, Introduction to Bioinformatics, Sequence search tools, Biological databases, protein structure visualization, Emerging concepts of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, application of bioinformatics in day to day research in life sciences.
FACULTY: Faculty for the Training Course will include eminent guest speakers from Gauhati University and neighbouring institutions working in the field of Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Structural Biology.
METHODOLOGY
Lectures, Demos, Hands on Session and Workshop.
LEVEL OF PARTICIPANTS: Students and Research Scholars in Biological Sciences.
PREREQUISITES: Basic knowledge of Computer.
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: Number of participants will be restricted to 15.
ACCOMMODATION: Participants are requested to arrange their own accommodation.
LOCATION: The University Campus is 12 km away from the Guwahati Railway Station and 10km from Guwahati Airport.
REGISTRATION FEE: Rs.500/- (includes course work material and lunches; may be paid in cash)
