1. GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR THESE RECRUITMENTS:
* “Good academic record” shall mean “securing on an average at least 55% marks in all examinations taken together prior to Master’s degree viz. Secondary Class & Higher Secondary (10 + 2) or equivalent and Honours degree stage. However, 55% marks at Master’s degree level is mandatory as per UGC norms”.
Visva-Bharati reserves the right not to fill up the vacancy if circumstances so warrant. Selection for the posts may not be confined only to candidates who apply formally.
Essential qualifications prescribed are the minimum and mere possession of them will not entitle applicants to be called in for interview. If the number of applications received in response to this advertisement is large and it is not convenient for the University to interview all the applicants, the number of candidates for interview may be restricted to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience.
Qualification and experience may be relaxed at the discretion of the University.
Relaxation in age and percentage of marks will be allowed, as per rules, to candidates belonging to reserved categories.
5% relaxation in marks(from 55% to 50%) may be provided to Ph.D. Degree holders, who obtained Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.
Candidates already in employment shall apply through proper channel (or submit formal ‘No Objection Certificate’ during interview, if called for), and also submit release order at the time of joining Visva-Bharati’s service, if appointed. They may however send an advance copy of the application.
Counting of past service will not be allowed if applications are not received through proper channel.
Selected candidates have to reside within the territorial jurisdiction of the University as declared in the Visva-Bharati Act, 1951.
Candidates must fulfil essential qualification/ experience on the date of application. All qualifications must have been obtained from recognized University/Institute only.
2. AVAILABILITY OF APPLICATION FORMS:
Prescribed application form will be made available by post (against written request to ‘Registrar’s Office, Visva-Bharati, P.O.-Santiniketan, Pin- 731235’) if a candidate sends a self addressed and stamped (Rs 15) envelope (size 11 cm X 26 cm) along with an a/c payee Demand Draft drawn on State Bank of India, Santiniketan branch (2121), in favour of Accounts Officer, Visva-Bharati towards application fee as detailed below.
I P O/Money Order/ postage stamps etc towards application fee will not be accepted. However, those who wish to collect forms personally may do so from the above office, after submitting Cash Coupon (of required value) procured from the Cash Section of the University.
Forms can be down loaded also from the University website: www.visva-bharati.ac.in . In that case,filled-in application form, required photo-copies (of it) and testimonials shall be accompanied by a Demand Draft of required value towards application fee as stated below.
3. Application fee (non refundable):
A. Rs. 400 for un-reserved/ OBC category candidates.
B. Rs. 100 for SC/ST candidates.
C. ‘Nil’ for physically handicapped candidates (40% or above).
Attested copies of certificates issued by appropriate authorities are to be submitted for exemptions.
4. Submission of Forms and Other Information:
(i) Duly filled-in original application form (ii) 12(twelve) photo copies of filled-in form,(iii) one set of attested photo-copies of testimonials/certificates and (iv) two recent passport size photographs  (nonreturnable) signed in full (at the bottom), by the candidate, should reach the above address within last date of application.
Attestation can be done by a Gazetted/ Group-A Officer of Central/ State Gov’t or Dean/ Director/Proctor/ Principal/ Registrar/ Head of Department/ Group-A officer of a recognized University/ college
or Principal/ Head Master of a recognized and affiliated high school.
Application forms, not properly filled in or incomplete in any respect, will be rejected without any reference. Applicants are advised to read the advertisement very carefully and to ensure that they fulfil all essential and additional/desirable qualifications.
Separate applications must be made for each post.

Candidates aged 35 years or less having a Ph.D. Degree and willing to carry out advanced research in the fields of Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture & Regional Planning, Humanities & Social Sciences and Law (Intellectual Property Rights, Corporate Law, and Environment Law and Management) should apply online. Application fee is Rs. 500/- for General/OBC and Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates. Women candidates are exempted from the payment of application fee.
Applicants are advised to visit to concerned Department Webpage for more details about research areas and faculty . They must also read PDF Regulations of the institute for ELIGIBILITY and other details .

STEP-I : Make PAYMENT
In order to fill in the online application, payment of application fee has to be made apriori. The payments are made through Demand Draft only.
Demand drafts of Rs. 500/- for General/OBC and Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates should be made in favour of "IIT Kharagpur" on any nationalized bank payable at Kharagpur,West Bengal.
STEP-II : FILL IN THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
Register with Your Email Id and Login. FILL in the appropriate data. You will have to FILL in the payment details also (except women candidates). Therefore, it is essential that before you fill in the online application form make sure that you have the Demand Draft as mentioned above. You must enter the Demand Draft number and the Bank name for the payment details. You have to upload your digital photograph and signature. Please make sure that you have your passport size digital photograph and digital image of your signature ready before submitting online.
STEP-III : PRINT THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
After freezing the online application, you will be able to generate a PDF document of the online application with your specific details/data. For this your computer must have Adobe Acrobat Reader. From the onscreen view of the PDF document that your browser projects, you must PRINT the generated PDF online application form.
STEP-IV : POST
Place the Demand Draft,list of publications,patent filed/granted, plan of research work and recommendations of atleast two employees along with printed online application form with supporting documents in an envelope and send it to
