NATIONAL BRAIN RESEARCH CENTRE (NBRC), Manesar-122 050, Gurgaon, requires a Junior Research Fellow in the project funded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: M.Sc. in any branch of Life Science with First Class.
Experienced in R&D Laboratory for atleast 1 / 2 years. Expertise in cancer cell culture, experimental manipulation (transfection) of cells required.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE : Experience in Fluorescence In situ Hybridization, Confocal Microscopy, handling and experimentation with (in vivo tumor model) and working knowledge of primer designing, will be considered an added qualification
AGE LIMIT: Not above 27 Years.

DURATION: The tenure will be for a period of 1 year and extendable on review and on mutual agreement. The post is co-terminus with the project. Selected candidate should abide by the rules and regulations of NBRC.

The training course is designed to provide state-of-the-art theoretical basis of molecular breeding with special emphasis on phenotyping. The main focus of the training programme is to provide hands on training on the aspects of phenotyping and molecular breeding for drought tolerance.
ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION
The training programme is being organized by the Department of Crop Physiology, UAS, Bangalore with financial assistance from the Niche Area of Excellence project of the ICAR. The training course is designed for faculty and scientists/researchers/postdoctoral/students and will be for the duration of ten days from 13 to 22 February 2012.
Eligible faculty/scientists/postdoctoral fellows/Ph.D. students, who wish to participate in the training programme, may submit their brief curriculum vitae including name, date of birth, sex, educational qualifications, experience, position held, postal, e-mail address and phone number and a brief writeup on motivation to attend the training programme. Application sent through proper channel duly approved by the institution will be considered (attach the letter of approval with the application).
Preference will be given to individuals below 45 years of age.

Accommodation will be arranged for the participants on sharing basis for the period of training. No TA/DA will be provided to the participants attending the training programme.

TIFR's Centre for Applicable Mathematics is a unique centre of research, with the faculty working in both pure and applied areas of mathematics. Every year we offer summer internships to several undergraduate and graduate students from around the country to work with faculty on various research projects culminating sometimes in new results. These internships typically take place during the summer, though it is possible to have them at another time of the year. You may discuss the options once you are selected. The aim of this internship is to expose the student to an academic research experience and for the student to work towards problems of importance. The students are expected to have the ability to work fairly independently and to have a strong desire to be problem solvers. At the end of the internship, the students will be required to make a presentation and write a report of their work.
PERIOD OF INTERNSHIP: Summer internship is typically for a length of 1 or 2 months between May - July of each year, though longer internships and/or other times of the year are possible as well.

The incumbent should be well versed in routine Clinical Pathology, Basic Hematology and Clinical Biochemistry reporting,
Accreditation norms and Quality systems. The selected candidate will require to manage round the clock Diagnostic laboratory services of the centre.

The qualifications and experience prescribed above are the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle any candidates to be called for interview. Where the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is more, it will not be convenient or possible for the Centre to call all candidates for interview The number may be restricted to a reasonable limit on the basis of the qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Canvassing in any form will be treated as a disqualification for the post.
SC/ST/Physically Handicapped category candidates called for interview will be reimbursed second class railway fare (other than Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Janashatabdi trains) by shortest route from their place of normal residence in India and back only on production of tickets /evidence indicating class of journey.
It is not necessary that all the advertised posts will be filled. The Centre may upgrade or downgrade the available post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate on the recommendations of the selection committee. Age limit, experience can be relaxed in the cases of exceptionally meritorious candidates as per rules. Higher start of pay by granting advance increment may also be considered by the Selection Committee.
