JOB DESCRIPTION:The job would involve maintenance and operation of sophisticated instrumentation , management of the facility or other works related from time to time by the school level coordinator.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Master of science degree in any of the following subjects: Physics, Electronics, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology
DESIRABLE: working in a research laboratory and experience in taking care of laboratory/sophisticated instruments
SALARY: Minimum of Rs 8500/- per month (Consolidated). Higher salary may be given in case of deserving candidates.
AGE LIMIT: 30 years.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PROJECT NO.1: To subclone, design mutants, express and purify proteins. Perform biochemical, biophysical and cell-based studies on Hax-1 and HtrA2 proteins to characterize their interaction and understand the underlying mechanism of apoptotic regulation.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Biological Sciences from a recognized university with not less that 60% aggregate marks.
EXPERIENCE:
PROJECT NO.1: Prior experience in molecular cloning, protein expression and purification and cell biology work. Experience in using different chromatographic techniques, molecular biology techniques is expected. Basic understanding and experience in biophysical techniques such as fluorescence spectroscopy and circular dicroism is desirable.
PROJECT NO.2:  Prior experience tissue culture, handling hematopoietic stem cells, cellular and molecular biology techniques. Basic understanding and experience in stem cell biology techniques such as surface labeling and flow sorting of stem cells, clonogenic assays.

This course shall be made available to faculty members/Research Scholars of Panjab University, PGIMER/GMCH doctors (having basic background in Statistics) and for the faculty members of the neighbouring institutes actively involved in research.
