Applications are invited from the citizens of India who fulfill the requisite qualifications / specifications as
mentioned below in the prescribed format for the following posts in the Pay Band of Rs. /-5200- Rs. /-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. /-2000 for Technical Assistant,1 Rs. /-900 for LDC, Driver and Rs. /-1800 for MTS plus other allowances as admissible to Central Govt. Employees.

 (1) Method of Selection:
(i) The selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit. The selection process for LDC will comprise
written test, type test and computer skill. Final merit will be decided on the basis of combined marks in
the written and in practical.
(ii) The selection will be made in respect of Technical Assistant and Multi-Tasking Staff based on
interview, viva and computer skill.
(iii) The selection will be made in respect of Driver based on interview and trade test.

(2) Age Limit:
(i) 18-25 years as on 31-10-2011 for the post of Technical Assistant, & Driver. Relaxable for Govt.
servants/ employees of ICFRE in accordance with instructions or orders issued by the Central Govt.
(ii) 18-27 years as on 31-10-2011 for the post of Lower Division Clerk. Relaxable for Govt. servants/
employees of ICFRE up to 40 years in accordance with instructions or orders issued by the Central
Govt.
(iii) 18-30 years as on 31-10-2011 for the post of Multi-Tasking Staff.



(3) Required qualifications:
(i) For Technical Assistant- Passed 12th class in science from a recognized board or equivalent. Having
knowledge of computer application.
(ii) For Lower Division Clerk- (a) Passed 12th class or equivalent qualification from a recognized board or university. (b) A typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on Computer and having
knowledge of E-Governance.
(iii) For Driver-(a) Passed 10th standard or ITI equivalent. (b) Possessing valid light and heavy duty driving licence. (c) One year driving experience.
(iv) For Multi Tasking Staff-Passed 10th standard or ITI equivalent and having knowledge on computer.

(7) Application Fee: Non- refundable Demand Draft of `200.00 (`100.00 for SC/ST candidates) from any nationalized Bank in favour of the Director, Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat.
(8) Last date of receipt of application 31-10-2011.
The selected candidates will be required to work in Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat and its centre at Advanced Research Centre for Bamboo and Rattan at Aizawl, Mizoram. However, they may also be required to serve anywhere in India under Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Dehradun and its institutes. Interested candidates who fulfill all the requirements and are willing to serve anywhere in India may apply to the:

Applications which are incomplete / illegible / unsigned / not supported with required documents,received after the due date or otherwise deficient in any manner will be out rightly rejected. Mere fulfilling the minimum prescribed qualifications and experience will not bestow any right upon candidate for being called for the interview / test. A Screening Committee will scrutinize all the applications received for the posts and only short listed candidates found eligible for work requirements of this institute will be called for interview / test. The decision of Director/ Screening Committee will be final and no correspondence
will be entertained in this regard. Candidates already employed in the service of Govt. / Autonomous organization may send their applications through proper channel. They are required to produce 'No Objection Certificate' from present employer at the time of Interview. The forwarding authority should ensure that in the event of selection of the official he should be in a position to relieve / spare the official within a month of the issue of appointment letter to him/her. The forwarding authority of the officials should furnish the following information along with the application:-
1. Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
2. Photocopies of Annual Confidential Reports for the last 5 years.
3. Whether any disciplinary action has been initiated against him / her.

CIRCULAR
The Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education is an Autonomous Council of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, with its Institutes/Centres at Dehradun, Jabalpur, Bangalore, Jorhat, Jodhpur, Coimbatore, Shimla, Ranchi, Allahabad, Chhindwara and Hyderabad. There are certain posts in the Council which have been identified/earmarked for appointment of IFS officers on deputation basis at the level of Conservator of Forests (CF) in the pay scale of PB-4 Rs. 37,400-67,000/- with grade pay of Rs.8,900/- and Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) in the pay scale of PB-4 Rs.37,400-67,000 with grade pay of Rs.8,700/- and PB-3 Rs.15,600- 39,100 with grade pay of Rs.7,600/- and Rs.6,600/-. The above vacancies may either be increased or decreased due to administrative reasons. The IFS officers who have completed 15 years of service with reference to the year of allotment are eligible for consideration for appointment to the post of Conservator of Forests.

The IFS/SFS officers who are willing to be considered for appointment on deputation against these vacancies with liability to serve anywhere in India under the Council, are requested to send their applications along with latest bio-data and station(s) of choice in order of preference through the concerned State Government/Ministry of Government of India, if serving on deputation to the Central Government, so as to reach this Council latest by 07.11.2011. The closing date of receipt of application from officers residing in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep will be 21.11.2011. The bio-data of the officer should reflect his/her name, date of birth, cadre, educational qualification, details of posts held, last post held on tenure deputation with period, present pay scale (drawn basic pay), detail of trainings attended, experience in administration and in forestry research/extension/ education, publications and other relevant information.
The State/UT Governments/ Ministries of Government of India are requested to send the Confidential Reports for the last five years and vigilance clearance in respect of willing officers, while forwarding their applications.
