POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP AWARD, 2012
The Canadian Pain Society in partnership with Pfizer Canada is pleased to announce the Pain Postdoctoral Fellowship Award. This award will support highly qualified candidates at the post‐PhD stage to add to their experience by engaging in pain research at a Canadian institution. Applications will also be considered from individuals who wish to complete further postdoctoral research at institutions outside of Canada; however such requests should clearly justify the selection of a training site outside of Canada.
Applicants must have completed a PhD in a pain‐related field and be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant with permanent Canadian residence.
This award also includes economy travel to the annual Canadian Pain Society Conference, one night’s hotel accommodation at the conference hotel rate, complimentary conference registration for one day and a complimentary dinner ticket.
The recipient will be announced at the dinner/awards evening at the 2012 conference.
The value of the award is $40,000 per year for up to 2 years (2012 & 2013).
Applicants must submit a cover letter, a 2 page summary of the proposed research to be conducted during the postdoctoral fellowship, CV, and 2 letters of reference, one of which must come from the applicant’s PhD supervisor. A letter of support from the proposed supervisor that the candidate will work with for their postdoctoral fellowship year is also required. The successful candidate will be expected to present a report to the review committee upon completion of the fellowship. The applicant must be a current member of the Canadian Pain Society.
