The walk-in-interview for the positions of Research Associates/Senior Research Fellows/Data Entry Operator and Office Assistant in various projects will be conducted at this Institute on the date/time and venue and other details shown against each position on contractual basis. The eligible candidates are invited to appear before the Selection Committee for Walk-in-Interview for the positions of Research Associates/Senior Research Fellows/Data Entry Operator and Office Assistant at NDRI, Karnal, as per schedule indicated against each.

1. NFBSFARA Project “Micro-encapsulation Methods for Bacteriocins for their Controlled Release” under Dr. R.K. Malik, PS & PI, DM Division, NDRI, Karnal.	RA 01(One) Rs. 24000/- per month + HRA as applicable for Ph. D and Rs. 23000/- per month + HRA as applicable for Master Degree with 2 years experience	March, 2013	DM Division NDRI, Karnal on  31-05-2012  at  10:30 A.M.	Essential: Ph.D or M.Sc Degree in the following subjects with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average in Dairy Microbiology/Food Microbiology/ Agricultural Microbiology /Biochemistry / General  Microbiology /Life Sciences or allied disciples with two year research experience as evidenced from fellowship/associate ship/training ship/or published papers in standard journals. Desirable: (i) Preference will be given to candidates have experience in the field  of biosensor, analyzing milk & milk products and food samples for microbiological quality parameters preferably familiar with food analysis for drugs, aflatoxins and hygiene indicator organisms etc. (ii)  Good knowledge of statistics/ software optimization, proficiency in computer application particularly in use of MS office.

Age Limit:

40 year for Men and 45 years for Women in case of RA on the date of Interview.

                35 year for Men and 40 years for Women in case of SRF on the date of Interview.

18-45 years on the date of Interview for Office Assistant.

18-45 years on the date of Interview for Data Entry Operator.

The above positions are purely temporary and will be filled in on Contractual basis.  The selected candidate shall have no right/claim for regular appointment at this Institute, as the fellowship is co-terminus with the Project/Scheme.  Interested candidates may attend Walk-in-Interview on the dates as indicated against each project/scheme alongwith original certificates and typed bio-data with one set of attested copies of each their certificates with passport size photograph.  No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

NOTE:

1) The vacancy may increase or decrease.

Syllabus and Pattern of Examination: The syllabus for written examination will be as per ‘Annexure VIII’ for the post of Assistant.

1. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

All applicants must fulfill the essential educational requirements of the post etc. and other conditions as stipulated in the advertisement. They are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they posses at least essential qualifications laid down for the relevant post. No enquiry for advice regarding eligibility will be entertained.

Note-I. The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for written test.

Note-II. Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large and it will not be convenient or possible for the Department to call for written test of all the candidates, the Department at their discretion may restrict the number of candidates, to a reasonable limit based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. In case of grading system, the candidate must furnish conversion formula duly approved by the respective Board/Institute.

The candidate should mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field over and above the minimum qualifications and should attach attested copies of the certificate in support thereof.

2. DISQUALIFICATION

·         Individual who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person two or more having a living spouse;

·         or

·         Individual who having a spouse living has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall not be eligible for appointment to the service.

·         Individual who has furnished wrong information in the application form, false certificate to avail benefits/reservation, false/wrong information in the application form regarding material information, shall be liable to cancellation of candidature at any stage of recruitment process and/or termination of service, if the candidate has been selected.

3. SERVICE CONDITIONS

The candidates finally selected for appointment will be under ICAR service and are likely to be posted to any Units under Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi and will also be liable to be appointed/transferred to any where in India.

PROBATION. The persons selected for appointment will be on probation for a period of two years, which may further be extended at the discretion of appointing authority.

HEALTH. A candidate must be in a sound mental and bodily health and free from any physical illness which is likely to interfere with the efficient discharge of his/her duties. A candidate who after such medical examination, as may be prescribed by the competent authority, is found not to satisfy these requirements will not be appointed. Only such candidates as are likely to be considered for appointment will have to be medically examined. The candidate has to be declared medically fit for the service by the competent medical authority.

HOW TO APPLY

(f) Resorting to any other irregular or improper means in connection with his/her candidature for the selection

(i) Misbehaving in any other manner in the examination hall, or

(j) Harassing or doing bodily harm to the staff employed by the Institute for the conduct of their test, or

(k) Bringing mobile phone/communication device in the examination hall/interview room.

Instruction for Departmental Candidates/Govt. employees

Persons already in Government service, whether in permanent or temporary capacity are required to submit the application through proper channel. However, their candidature will be subject to receipt of application by due date.

Additional information and general instructions for all candidates

·         Candidates must read the instructions mentioned in the preceding paras before filling the Application form. He must fill the form strictly according to the instructions.

·         Merely fulfilling the basic selection criteria one does not automatically entitle to be called for test/interview.

·         Candidates must ensure that no column is left blank or wrongly filled as the information furnished there would be used for deciding the eligibility and suitability of the candidate for being called for the written test and interview. Applications not filled correctly and as per the instructions are liable to be rejected and the onus of such rejection would be on the candidate himself. The Institute will not entertain any claim after such rejection.
