The university is undertaking M.Phil.-Ph.D., M.Pharm.-Ph.D., LL.M.-Ph.D. integrated and M.Tech. programs and invites applications for the post of Assistant Professors in the following centres of studies on purely temporary and contract basis for one year or till the positions are filled up on regular basis whichever is earlier:

EMOLUMENTS (CONSOLIDATED): M.Phil. + NET + Ph.D. : Rs. 42,000/- p.m.
NET + Ph.D. : Rs. 39,000/- p.m.
M.Tech. : Rs. 36,000/- p.m.
FREE ACCOMMODATION: Depending upon the availability, partly furnished transit accommodation at city campus may be given to faculty free of cost for three months on sharing basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
For Assistant Professors: NET/SLET + Ph.D. is the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment.
A) ESSENTIAL:
Good academic record with atleast 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/Physically & Visually handicapped candidates) or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E, & F at the Master’s degree level, in relevant discipline from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
The candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in compliance of the “University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulation 2009, shall be exempt from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET for recruitment and appointment as Assistant Professor”. B) Explanation:
The term ‘good academic record’ would imply the following:
i) At least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/Physically & Visually handicapped candidates) or
an equivalent grade at Master’s degree level.
And
ii) At least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/Physically & Visually handicapped candidates) at
the graduation level.
Or
At least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/Physically & Visually handicapped candidates) in
Honours at the graduation level.
Note: A relaxation of 5% is admissible from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders who have passed the Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991.
RESERVATION POLICY: The University follows Government of India rules for reservations.
PROCEDURE TO APPLY:
The candidate should download the application form available at website www.centralunipunjab.com and submit it complete in all respects on or before 22nd February 2012.
One set of self attested certificates and other supporting documents are to be attached with the application form. The candidates should bring original certificates at the time of interview.
The candidates should submit Four Copies of the Summary Sheet and the API form (Category III) along with their Application. The API form is available at university website.
Application fee of Rs. 100/- in the form of Demand draft in the favour of Central University of Punjab payable at Bathinda should accompany the application.
In case of in service candidates, the endorsement form must be signed by the employer.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS & ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR APPLYING TO FACULTY POSITIONS
1. Candidates who wish to apply for more than one Centre need to send separate applications.
2. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview. The university reserves its right to place reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for interview. Fulfillment of essential qualifications does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview.
3. Stringent criteria will be applied for short-listing the candidates to be called for interview
4. The university reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post at any time without assigning any reason. The right is also reserved with the university either to fill or not to fill the post and its decision in this regard shall be final.
5. Higher initial pay may be given to exceptionally qualified and deserving candidates.
6. Applicants not found suitable for higher positions may be considered for lower position in the same area of specialization.
7. Reservation Policy will be followed as per Govt. of India Rules. The SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates are required to attach the relevant certificate as per format prescribed by the Government of India.
8. The process of selection may be by a presentation/ seminar/interview or a combination thereof.
9. Application should be accompanied with a non-refundable demand draft Rs.500/- (Rs. 250/- for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/PWD) drawn in favour of the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda. The application fee for contractual positions is Rs. 100/- only.

11. Separate application along with application fee should be submitted for each post applied for.
12. The persons serving in Central/State Governments, Autonomous Bodies (Central/State) may be taken on deputation/contract for 2 years or up to the age of superannuation of 65 years, whichever is earlier. The service conditions including pay scales are as per UGC norms.
13. Retired Professor up to the age of 64 years in the relevant subject may also apply. Such candidates if selected may be paid full pay admissible to their respective rank at the minimum prescribed basic pay as per the rules.
14. The applicants serving in Government/Semi-Government organizations/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Organizations must send their applications "Through Proper Channel." The applications received without the recommendations of the employers will not be considered. However, an advance copy of application may be sent followed by the original application through proper channel.
15. The age of the superannuation for all the posts shall be as per UGC norms.
16. Candidates shall have to produce original documents at the time of appearing in interview.
17. Canvassing in any form may lead to cancellation of candidature.
18. Incomplete applications or without relevant supporting enclosures (self-attested copies of degree / certificates / marks sheets/ experience certificate, reprint of important publications, etc) will be out-rightly rejected.
19. Competent authority can relax the qualification and experience in case of deserving candidates.
20. The University reserves the right to place the curriculum vitae of any person for any post for the consideration of selection committee; to consider “in-absentia” or interview through “Video Conferencing”.
21. The University may increase or decrease number of advertised posts without prior notice.
22. The University may draw reserve panel(s) against possible vacancies in future.
