QUALIFICATIONS:
I. PROFESSOR CADRE POSTS:
1. A. Ph.D. in the concerned subject.
2. An eminent scholar with published work of high quality, actively engaged in Teaching and/ or experience in Research/Extension at University/ National level Institutions, including experience of guiding research at PG level with 10 years of experience (excluding the period spent for obtaining
Ph.D. degree subject to a maximum of 3 years) provided 5 years experience in Associate Professor cadre (pay scale of Rs. 12000 –18300 or as revised from time to time) or its equivalent position in the concerned subject.
II. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR CADRE POSTS:
1. A. Ph.D. in the concerned subject.
2. Good academic record with a Doctoral Degree or equivalent published work. In addition to these, candidates who join from outside University system, shall also possess atleast 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the seven point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s degree level.
3. Five (5) years of experience in Teaching and/or Research/ Extension in the cadre of Assistant Professor (pay scale of Rs. 8000-13500 or as revised time to time) or its equivalent position in the concerned subject, excluding the period spent for obtaining the Ph.D. degree (subject to a maximum of 3 years) and has made some marks in the areas of Scholarship as evidenced by quality of publication, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.
III. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR CADRE POSTS:
1. Good Academic record with at least 55% of the marks or, an equivalent grade of B in 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s degree level, in the concerned subject from a recognized Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University.
2. Candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in the concerned subject for Assistant Professor post conducted by the ASRB/ UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the ICAR/ICMR/NCERT/UGC /CSIR i.e.,
a) For Agriculture / Animal Husbandry / Veterinary / Fisheries disciplines, ASRB / ICAR NET in the concerned subject is prescribed.
b) For Humanities, languages, etc., UGC NET is prescribed.
c) For pure Sciences CSIR NET is prescribed.
NOTE:
1. List of concerned subjects at the Master’s level and NET examination to be cleared by the candidates to be eligible for selection to the post of Assistant Professors in various disciplines in the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore is as per the Annexure to the Corrigendum No.R/PS/AC-167/21/Item-9/Corgndm/2009-10, dated: 5-2-2010, available on UAS-B

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Application Fee: For Professor & Associate Professor Cadre Rs.200/- and for Assistant Professor Cadre posts Rs: 150/-. A Xerox copy of the Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority should be produced along with the Bank Demand Draft.
2. The candidates claiming for Rural quota should enclose the certificate of study in rural areas (for 10 full academic years from 1st to 10th standards) issued by the competent authority.
3. Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program(TEA Fellowship)


Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program
The Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA) provides international teachers with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills and increase their knowledge about the United States. TEA consists of a six-week non-degree, non-credit customized academic program including seminars on new teaching methodologies, curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional technology. Participants will also participate in a practicum in a U.S. secondary school near the host university to work closely with U.S. teachers and teach and present to U.S. students. Cultural enrichment, mentoring, and support will be provided throughout the program. The international participants will travel to the United States in two cohorts of 88-90 teachers each in spring or fall 2013.
 Upon returning home, TEA program alumni are eligible to apply for small grants for essential teaching materials, follow-on training for other teachers, collaborative projects between schools in their home country and the United States, and other activities that build on their U.S. experience.
The TEA fellowship is fully funded and provides:
J-1 visa support;
A pre-departure orientation held in participant's home country;
Round-trip airfare to and within the US;
A Welcome Orientation in Washington, D.C.;
Academic program fees;
Housing (generally shared with other program fellows) and meals;
Accident and sickness medical insurance coverage;
Transportation to the teaching practicum school (if necessary);
A daily allowance for meals and incidentals during the academic program;
A book/professional development allowance;
A baggage/shipping allowance (domestic and international);
A Closing Workshop in Washington, D.C.; and
The opportunity to apply for alumni small grants.
 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant should be:
Current secondary level, full time teachers with five or more years of classroom  experience in disciplines including English, Social Sciences, Mathematics and  Sciences;
Citizens of India and present in India at the time of application and interview;
Live and teach in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and all Union Territories in the South;
Proficient in written and spoken English with a paper based TOEFL score of 450 or higher*
Continue teaching after completion of the program
Have submitted a complete application.
 *For Fall 2013, IREX and ECA will pilot a limited cohort for participants with paper-based TOEFL scores of 425 - 450 that features a greater concentration on English language learning as well as pedagogical professional development.
TOEFL scores are not required at the time of application. If you are short-listed for interview, USIEF will administer the TOEFL or an equivalent of English proficiency test
