Bioinformatics,
Computational Biology, Analysis of Next Generation Sequencing Data
National
Cancer Institute, Bethesda, MD and surrounding area
The candidate will work on
identifying genomic alterations that are associated with pediatric cancer
progression and poor prognosis using sequence based analysis as well as the
identification of biologically and clinically relevant Single Nucleotide
Variants or mutations. The candidate will work with biologists to establish and
prove hypotheses based on genomic alterations in cancer as identified by next
generation sequencing strategies.
The candidate will work in the
Oncogenomics section of the Pediatric Oncology Branch of the CCR, NCI. Ongoing
research efforts involve genomic approaches to the investigation of Pediatric
Solid Tumors using next generation sequencing techniques with the goal of
identifying biomarkers, biologically relevant genomic changes and novel targets
for therapy.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate should be an US citizen
or a Permanent Resident, hold a Ph.D. or M.D. and have an interest in oncology
as well as experience in genomics or sequencing data analysis.
