Course: One year PG
diploma in Food Quality and Safety
Department of Studies in
Microbiology, University of Mysore, Manasagangotri, Mysore invites Applications
from eligible candidates for One Year Post Graduation diploma in Food Quality
and Safety for the year 2012-13.
AIMS
AND SCOPE: This
programme is designed to develop a practical “hands on training” in food safety
and quality. The programme incorporates the specialized knowledge and skills
required to implement the fundamental principles of ‘Quality Assurance.’
Schedules will be provided with knowledge required to either enter into or
progress within the food industry. This programme is equally beneficial to
those who wants complement their pre-existing skills and knowledge by
upgrading. The course can develop the knowledge and practical skills that are
associated with key topics of food science through studying core areas in food
chemistry, food microbiology, food analysis, processing and management of food quality
and safety.
ELIGIBILITY: Candidates from India and abroad
who have completed Masters Degree in Botany/ Applied Botany/ Biotechnology/
Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Plant Science/ Agriculture/ Sericulture/ Food and Nutrition/
Bioscience/ Life Science with at least 45% marks are eligible to apply.
The selection is based on merit.
SEAT
AVAILABILITY :
The intake for course shall be twenty for the first academic year. Ten seats
are for Mysore University students and remaining ten seats are for other Universities
and Foreign National Students as approved by UGC.
APPLICATION
PROCEDURE:
The Prospectus and the Application form may be
obtained from 25.06.2012 in person in the Office of the Administrative Officer,
Senate Bhavana, Manasagangotri, Mysore- 570 006 onpayment of Rs.150/- for
application form and Rs.100/- for Prospectus.
Application form inclusive of the prospectus
could be availed through post, by sending Demand Draft for Rs. 350/ (Rs.100/-
towards Postal Charges) drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of
Mysore, Mysore.
Candidates may also down-load the Application
form from the University Website: http.uni.mysore.ac.in and
submit the same with a demand draft for Rs.150 (One Hundred and Fifty only)
towards application fee, drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Mysore,
Mysore.
The filled-in application form
along with necessary certificates and copies of marks cards and certificate
relating to caste/ category in case of claim for reservation under such
category / caste should be submitted to the Chairperson, Department of Studies
in Microbiology, Manasagangotri, Mysore 570 006 on or before 25.07.2012 (latest
by 5-00 P.M.).
