THIS TRAINING PROGRAMME is sponsored by the World Bank Funded National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) of ICAR to address the issues related to risk assessment and management of GM crops. The training programme is designed to give participants an insight into the various aspects of biosafety for environmental release and commercialization of GM crops including DNA based testing of GM crops. A total of about 16 participants would be selected to participate in this intensive training module.
The faculty includes eminent scientists from ICAR institutes and universities as well as policy makers and regulatory authorities from MoEF and DBT. Trainees will also have an opportunity to learn from Dr. Karim M. Maredia, renowned scientist of Michigan State University (MSU), USA who is actively involved in the advanced Biotechnology and Biosafety training, education and capacity building programmes.
