(iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution / Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and / or research / policy papers.
(iv))Contribution to education innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
(v)A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in this Regulation in Appendix III.

(III)Eligibility Qualifications for the post(s) of Assistant Professor(s)
(i)Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks ( or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed ) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET / SET.
(iii)Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause
4.4.1.Candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in  accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/ SELT / SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent Positions in Universities / Colleges / Institutions.
(iv)NET / SLET / SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET / SLET / SET is not conducted.
(IV)Eligibility Qualifications for the post(s) of Professor(s) in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
i.Essential :
1.A basic degree in pharmacy (B. Pharm.)
2.Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments.
3.A Ph.D. Degree with First Class at Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy, and experience of ten years in teaching, research, industry and / or profession at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade;
OR
ii.In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
1.First Class Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy ; and
2.Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy and industrial / professional experience of five years at a senior level comparable to Assistant Professor / Reader,
Provided that the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 3-Member Committee of Experts appointed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
iii.Desirable :
1.Teaching, industrial research and / or professional experience in a reputed organization;
2. Published work, such as research papers, patents filed / obtained, books, and / or technical reports;
3.Experience of guiding the project work, dissertation of post graduate or research students or supervising R & D projects in industry;
4.Demonstrated leadership in planning and organizing academic, research, industrial and / or professional activities; and
5.Capacity to undertake / lead sponsored R & D, consultancy and related activities.
For avoidance of doubt, it is hereby clarified that :
1.If Class or Division is not declared at the Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree levels, an aggregate of >= 60% or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is to be considered as equivalent to First Class.
2.In respect of CGPA awarded to the candidates on a 10-Point Scale, the Table of equivalence shall be provided by the university concerned followed for determining the Class obtained by them as per (1) cited above.
(V)Eligibility Qualifications for the post(s) of Associate Professor(s) in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
i.Essential :1.A basic degree in pharmacy (B. Pharm.).

NOTES & INSTRUCTIONS :
1.For the post of Professor, the incumbent should submit his/her biodata and five copies each of reprints of three major publication of which one could be a book or research report, other than the copies with application form and for the post of Associate Professor should submit his/her biodata and reprints of three copies each of his/her three major publications separately other than the copies with applications form.
2.Precis statement supplied alongwith Application Form should also be filled in by applicant and submitted alongwith the application.
3.Prescribed qualifications for the above mentioned posts would be as per the norms / Regulations of UGC formulated in consultations with AICTE / NCTE and as approved by the Government of Maharashtra.
4.A relaxation of 5 % may be provided i.e. from 55% to 50 % of the marks at the Master’s degree level for the candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
5.A relaxation of 5 % of marks will be provided i.e. from 55 % to 50 % of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders, who have passed their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
6.NET / SLET /SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET / SLET /SET is not conducted.
7.The Ph.D. Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for the appointment of Professors and Associate Professor through direct recruitment.
8.The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M. Phil. and/ or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as teaching / research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.
9.As per provision under section 76(6) of Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994, for the post of Professor, the Selection Committee may in preference to the candidates who have applied and appeared before it, recommend for appointment, with all the requisite details, the name of any other person who may not have applied or appeared before it, but who is duly qualified and has to his credit exceptionally high academic achievements or proficiency in the specialization or has extraordinary academic contribution, to be recorded in writing.
10.The minimum period of probation shall be one year extendable by a maximum period of one more year in case of unsatisfactory performance.
11.Reservation for women will be as per the norm prescribed by State Govt. of Maharashtra.
12.Candidates belonging to the reserved categories specified by the state Government of Maharashtra shall be considered.
13.An applicant is required to submit separate application for each post and reserved category.
14.Candidates from reserved category who are domiciled out side the Maharashtra will be treated as Open category candidates as per Maharashtra Govt. Circular No. CBS-1290/23116/ dated 24-8-1995.
15.As per the Govt. resolution dated 31st October, 2005 a new “Defined contribution pension scheme” has been made applicable to the Govt. servant, who are recruited on or after 1st November, 2005. The same will be applicable to employees of this Institute.

INTRODUCTION OF THE COURSE
POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN PUBLIC HEALTH MANAGEMENT
This Diploma Course is a 1 year full residential course aimed at capacity building of health functionaries, so as to bridge the gap in Public Health management capacity amongst health professionals in the country.
The specific purpose of the PGDPHM course is to prepare a competent workforce of public health managers who have basic knowledge and skills of assessing public health needs, planning, organizing, staffing, financing and budgeting, monitoring and evaluating public health projects and programmes.


ADMISSION TO THE COURSE
Admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management is made once in a year. The session commences from 1st January each year.
NB: Before applying for course candidates are advised to go through information brochure and the admission notice published in the press carefully.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING
Applications for admission to the course are required to be submitted on the prescribed form supplied with the Information Brochure, which can be down loaded from PGIMER website.

The fact that an application form has been supplied on a certain date will not be accepted as an excuse for the late submission of the application. The supply of application from does not ipso-facto make the receiver eligible for admission to the selection test.
Application on forms other than those prescribed for the purpose will not be entertained. If any candidate gets an application form for course different from the one asked for, he/she may submit his/her application on the same before the closing date.
The application will be treated as an advance copy. The application on the prescribed form will be obtained later.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT
Applicants should possess only MBBS degree with three year experience as General Duty Medical Officer in the government health services preferably in the delivery of public health service.

METHOD OF SELECTION
Candidates should be sponsored by the government for the entire course duration. Each state government can sponsor candidates but PGIMER will select candidates based on professional eligibility, curriculum vitae, work experience, aptitude test, viva voce etc. and only those found fit to join the course will be selected by the Institute.

The complete application must reach to the Registrar, PGIMER, Chandigarh either by post or by personal delivery at the counter on or before the closing date. Applications may please be sent preferably by registered post. For facility of candidates, the closing date for the receipt of  applications has been mentioned on the application form. The counter for receipt of applications will close on 04.10.2011 at 5.00 PM and no application will be received thereafter. The Institute will not be responsible if applications are delivered to any other quarters. The fact that the application registration no. has been issued to the candidates, does not mean that the application is complete in all respects and has been accepted by the institute.

AVRDC is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Indian national for the position of Technical/Scientific Officer, to be based in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
About AVRDC:AVRDC-The World Vegetable Center is a nonprofit, autonomous international agricultural research center with headquarters in Taiwan and regional offices around the globe. The Center conducts research and development programs that contribute to improved incomes and diets in the developing world. AVRDC in collaboration with Sir Ratan Tata Trust is implementing a project: “Improving vegetable production and consumption for sustainable rural livelihoods in Jharkhand and Punjab, India.”
The job:
1.      Coordinate project monitoring and evaluation activities;
2.      Help organize training to strengthen the capacity of local partners to carry out research and extension activities for vegetable growers;
3.      Provide project administrative support such as procurement, payments and maintaining accounts in accordance to AVRDC’s policies and regulations;
4.      Assist in developing extension training materials and programs in coordination with project team members, and documenting success stories;
5.      Provide technical assistance in marketing, disseminating and promoting good practices and lessons learned from various project activities;
6.      Assist in the preparation of periodic progress reports, technical papers, and presentations for meetings, and annual reports as needed by project stakeholders.
The person: Master’s degree in agriculture or horticulture, preferably with advanced studies or training in vegetable crops and marketing; At least two years of related work experience; Good analytical skills and the ability to monitor and evaluate experimental trials; Strong writing and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi; Proficiency in the use of MS Office; Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver outputs within agreed time frames.
The appointment: A competitive all inclusive consolidated compensation will be paid based on experience and skills. The appointment is for 18 months at Ranchi, Jharkhand, India.
