Applications are invited for the following posts for a Department of Science and Technology, Government of India sponsored research project titled ‘Livelihoods, Vulnerability and Adaptation Strategies to Climate Variability and Change : A bottom up approach to simulate the climate change impacts in two sensitive ecological regions (biodiversity hotspots) of India’ in the Centre for Ecological Economics and Natural Resources (CEENR), Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC) (www.isec.ac.in ).
POSITION: Research Associate: 1 (one)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION/S: PhD in Environmental Science, Forestry, Botany with First Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with at least 2 years of experience in the relevant field.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION/S: Good knowledge of Remote Sensing and GIS along with Knowledge of database management and programming.
Knowledge of Kannada is necessary
EMOLUMENTS:@ Rs. 18000+HRA) :Pre-revised (excluding TA and DA during field travel)
AGE LIMIT(AS ON DATE OF INTERVIEW ): Below 35 years.
POST: Junior Research Fellow:1 (one)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION/S : M.Sc. in Environmental Science, Forestry, Botany consistently good academic record UGC-CSIR NET qualified candidate will be given preference.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION/S: Understanding ecological complexity, socio-ecology, dynamics of land use land cover change and biodiversity monitoring Knowledge of remote sensing and GIS
Should have the good field knowledge and working knowledge of Kannada and Hindi
EMOLUMENTS: @ Rs. 12000+ HRA for the first 2 years and Rs. 14000 + HRA for the 3rd year)(Pre-revised)
AGE LIMIT (AS ON DATE OF INTERVIEW ): Below 28 years
• These positions are purely temporary. The appointment will be on contract basis for a period of six months initially and on satisfactory performance extendable to 3 years. Good knowledge of Computers and Programming is a requirement for both the research positions.
• The selected candidates shall not claim for regular appointment at DST, DU or ISEC as the positions are co-terminus with the project.
• Candidates must submit their resume/ CV with a set of self attested photocopies of all educational/ experience related certificate/ marks sheet with one passport size photograph.
• Candidates must bring all the original documents as well for verification.
• No TA/ DA will be paid for attending the interview.
