Applications are invited for the following posts for a Department of Science and Technology, Government of India sponsored research project titled ‘Enabling tribal communities to improve livelihoods and enhance biodiversity conservation: Scientific and technological interventions for sustainable ecosystem development in BR Hills, Western Ghats’ in the Centre for Ecological Economics and Natural Resources (CEENR), Institute
POSITION: Research Officer
NUMBER OF POST: one
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION/S : MPhil/ MTech/ MSc in Biotechnology, Botany consistently good academic record With at least 1year of experience in the relevant field.
UGC-CSIR NET qualified candidate will be given preference.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION/S: Study on medicinal plants, habitat study, development and demonstration of rural bio-technology models at field level
Should have the good field knowledge
Basic knowledge of Remote Sensing and GIS along with Knowledge of database management and programming.
Knowledge of Kannada (Read and write)
EMOLUMENTS: (@ Rs. 15600 pm fixed) : (excluding TA and DA during field travel)
AGE LIMIT ( AS ON DATE OF INTERVIEW ): Below 30 years.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION/S: Master degree in Environmental Science consistently good academic record
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION/S: Should have the good field knowledge
Knowledge of Kannada necessary
EMOLUMENTS :(@ Rs. 10000 pm fixed)
AGE LIMIT ( AS ON DATE OF INTERVIEW ): Below 28 years
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
• These positions are purely temporary. The appointment will be on contract basis for a period of six months initially and on satisfactory performance extendable to 3 years. Good knowledge of Computers and Programming is a requirement for both the research positions.
• The selected candidates shall not claim for regular appointment at DST or ISEC as the positions are coterminous with the project.
• Candidates must submit their resume/ CV with a set of self attested photocopies of all educational/ experience related certificate/ marks sheet with one passport size photograph.
• Candidates must bring all the original documents as well for verification.
• No TA/ DA will be paid for attending the interview.
