Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the DBT sub-project entitled 'Analysis of chickpea response to Ascochyta infection and generation of ORF eome for target genes' of "Next Generation Challenge Programme on Chickpea Genomics" under the supervision of Dr. Praveen Verma, Scientist, NIPGR.
Senior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms, & sanctioned in the project.
QUALIFICATION:
Candidates having M.Sc. degree with at least 55% marks in any discipline of Life Science (Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Botany, Zoology and any other related field) with two years post-M.Sc. research experience are eligible to apply. Research experience in Molecular Biology, Functional Genomics and Chickpea Transformation or related field will be preferred.
The position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms.

POST: Scientific Officer – Genebank (Seed Laboratory)
ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the post of Scientific Officer – Genebank (Seed Laboratory) to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.
ICRISAT is a non-profit, apolitical, international organization for science-based agricultural development. Established in 1972, it is an Alliance of centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), and supported by more than 48 governments, foundations, and development banks. To reduce poverty, enhance crop productivity and food security and to protect the environment, ICRISAT research focuses on farming systems and crop improvement, management and utilization of sorghum, pearl millet, pigeonpea, chickpea, and groundnut in the semi-arid tropics. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Plan and organize seed processing and conservation activities;
•Seed germination and quality testing, viability monitoring, inventory on germplasm collections and seed sampling for planting and distribution, data collection and analysis, documentation;
•Upkeep of the seed lab, storage and special facilities of the unit;
•Assistance in seed conservation research and preparing reports
COMPETENCIES:
•Proficiency in English communication skills (both written and spoken);
•Proficiency in Computer skills (Ms- Office, data analysis);
•Should be a good team player and adaptable to working in multicultural team.
REQUIREMENTS:
•M.Sc in Agriculture with Seed Technology/Genetic Resources/Genetics and Plant Breeding or Botany.
•3 years of experience. Candidates with specialization in seed technology and exposure to handling similar activities in large seed testing laboratories preferred
