"Walk-in-Interview" is to be held on Thursday, the 10th May, 2012 at 10.00 A.M. at this Institute for engagement of Project Fellow under the Department of Biotechnology Sponsored Project entitled "Bioresource inventorization with a focus on bioprospecting of Pteridophytes of Western Himalaya" (GAP-0126)" on purely temporary basis (co-terminus with the project) :
PROJECT FELLOW: ~16,000/- PM for NET qualified and ~12000/-PM for Non-NET qualified)
POSITION(S): Two Positions.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: M.Sc. in Botany/Forestry/Ecology with 55% Marks.
DESIRABLE: Valid CSIR-UGC NET cleared.
AGE: 28 years as on 10.05.2012
DATE & TIME OF WALK- IN-INTERVIEW: Thursday, the 10th May, 2012 at 10.00 A.M.
VENUE: CSIR-IHBT, Palampur (H.P.)
AGE RELAXATION: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not remarried is allowed age concession up to the age of 35 years. (Up to 40 years for members of SC/STs)-No other women is entitled for such relaxation.
Eligible candidates may appear for "Walk-in-Interview" on the date, time and place mentioned above alongwith an application on prescribed format which is available on the IHBT,website www.ihbt.res.in   alongwith attested photocopies of testimonials of their age, educational qualifications, experience, reserved category, etc. at the time of interview. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the Sponsored Project.There will be no right implicit or explicit for regular position or any post in CSIR-IHBT,whatsoever. Candidates must also bring with them original certificates of testimonials at the time of the appearing for interview failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for interview. No TA will be paid for attending the interview.

POST DOC RESEARCH FELLOW

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Ph.D. in Ecology, Botany, Zoology, Environmental Sciences or relevant discipline is essential and
a proven interest in plant-animal interactions desirable. Strong analytical skills would be an advantage. Ability to speak English, Bengali and/or Oriya and Hindi is also essential. We are seeking a self-reliant individual able to manage elements of a high profile international project which includes extensive travel and personnel management. It is a full-time 3 year post.
JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW
Two Junior Research fellows to join the team. One of the positions is reserved for a CSIR NET Fellowship holder. The successful candidates will set-up and carry out long-term monitoring of pollinators at the CPS research station/s in Orissa and Tripura. There will be an opportunity to develop independent research and the successful candidate will be registered for a PhD at the University of Calcutta.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
A M.Sc. in biological science (Istclass) is required. An interest in plant – animal interactions is also desirable. The post will require a self-motivated person who is capable of working under difficult conditions in a relatively isolated area for long periods. Good English and an ability to speak either Bengali or Hindi is essential.
