Immunopathogenesis of Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory Syndrome in HIV Infection

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the HIV Pathogenesis Unit (HPU) within the Clinical and Molecular Retrovirology Section of the Laboratory of Immunoregulation. The HPU is involved in translational research of the pathogenesis of HIV infection with a focus on Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory Syndrome (IRIS) involving in vitro modeling and work with clinical samples. Current goals include the study of pathways involved in the inflammatory responses of IRIS and the cell subsets responsible for the pathology. Interested candidates should have a PhD or MD/PhD degree and less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience. Preference will be given to candidates with strong experience in immunology, flow cytometry, molecular biology, and confocal microscopy who are highly motivated and collaborative with excellent writing and communication skills. Appointment duration is for up to 5 years, renewed on a yearly basis, depending on performance and availability of funds. Stipend is based on education and experience.
