1.POST: RESEARCH ASSOCIATE -  (01 position)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Ph.D. or M.Tech. with 3 years experience in Life Science, Immunology, Biotechnology,  Molecular Biology, Zoology, Cell Biology, Bio-informatics, Onco-biology.

DESIRABLE: Practical research experience with techniques related to Molecular Biology, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Cellular Immunology and  Tissue culture.

STIPEND: Rs. 22,000/-  plus HRA @ 20%p.m.

2.  POST: PROJECT ASSISTANT (03 Positions)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: 1st Class M.Sc in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Zoology, Cell Biology.

DESIRABLE:-Working experience with techniques  related to Cellular Immunology and  Tissue Culture.

STIPEND: Rs. 16,000/-   

AGE LIMIT: 28 years  as on  10.05.2012

Besides, the institute also wishes to draw a panel of Project Assistants/Project Fellows as per details given below to fill up future vacancies as arise from        time to time under sponsored projects. Panel will be operative for a maximum period of one year from the date of interview or another interview is conducted by the Institute.

AGE LIMIT- 28 years  as on  10.05.2012(Relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped will be as per GOI Rules).

The engagement as a Project Assistant/Research Associate in the projects is purely on temporary basis maximum for the period of duration of the project.  However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year and will be extended yearly basis till the duration of the project depending on the satisfactory performance of the incumbent.  The appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice.  Total duration of project assistantship in CSIR Laboratories is maximum of 5 years.  Therefore, if an incumbent switches between the projects, the appointment will terminate on the day he/she completes 05 years as a Research Associate/Project Assistant.  Please note that it is not an IMTECH/CSIR appointment and will not confer any right of the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit or any position. Number of positions may vary.

TITLE: Plant chamber studies of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from Indian plant species using proton transfer reaction mass spectrometry

The project involves both building a plant chamber for screening of VOC emissions and doing field work involving analytical techniques like mass spectrometry and near dispersive infra red spectroscopy.

DURATION OF PROJECT: The position is initially for 6 months which could be extended on yearly basis, subject to satisfactory performance up to 2014. Project start date can be decided on mutual convenience but should be no later than 15.07.2012

EMOLUMENTS: As per Department of Science and Technology Rules.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Physics or Botany with excellent academic record. Good programming skills, experience in handling large datasets, field work experience and training in gas chromatography / mass spectrometry are desirable.

Candidates should have preferably have a valid GATE or CSIR/UGC (JRF/NET) qualification.
