A Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) position is available immediately at the Department of Animal Sciences, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad in ICMR sponsored research project entitled “Studies on the regulation of keratinocyte differentiation and proliferation role of 12R-Lipoxygenase”. We are seeking applicants who have minimum of 2 years research experience, NET/GATE qualified, highly motivated and with strong academic record in biological sciences at postgraduate level. The position is purely temporary and for a period of one year. Scientist ’B’ (Genetics) post atRegional Medical Research Centre for Tribals, Jabalpur

Applications are invited up-to 29th June 2012 for one post of Scientist ’B’ (Genetics) (unreserved) at its Regional Medical Research Centre for Tribals, Jabalpur in the Pay Band-3 of Rs.15,600-39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs.5400/- and usual allowances as admissible as per Government norms.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : MBBS degree recognized by MCI or First class Master’s degree in Genetics/Life science from a recognized University or 2nd class M.Sc. in Genetics/Life Sciences with Ph.D. degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS :-
1. M.D. or Ph..D. degree in related subject from a recognized university.
2. Additional research/teaching experience in relevant subjects haemoglobinopathies in Recognized Institute(s).
3. Knowledge of Computer Applications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
To conduct independent laboratory and field research studies in relevant field and to participate in multi disciplinary studies on genetic disorders prevalent amongst tribal populations (monogenic and polygenetic disorders). Central India occupies the largest and most diverse ethnic populations living in the natural environment. There are over 45 different tribal groups and 7 primitive tribal groups (PTGs) in Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh and the later group is stated to be dwindling. Haemoglobinopathies in the form of sickle cell diseases beta thalassemia and alpha thalassemia are very common in the tribal predominant area of central India. In some tribal populations the sickle haemoglobinopathies is very high (Upto 30%), and cause a public health problem. Along with these haemoglogin disorders other RBC related genetic disorders like G6PD deficiency is also very common in central India. Looking at the gravity of the situation caused by various single genetic disorders Council has identified haemoglobinopathies as one of the thrust areas of research of this Centre.
AGE LIMIT: Not exceeding 35 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel & Training from time to time in this regard.
One time age relaxation is also allowed to Scientific and Technical staff working in long term projects in ICMR Institutes/Centres for posts advertised under HRSC, 2007 provided they meet essential qualifications and experience for the post with a view to provide them opportunity to compete with other candidates as per Council's letter No, 6/1/2007-Admn.II, dated, 28.03.2011.
GENERAL RELAXATION CLAUSE: Age, qualification and experience will be relaxable in deserving cases as mentioned in the Recruitment Rules of Health Research Scientists cadre of ICMR, 2007 under Rule 14 and Notes 1&2 of Annexure-III.
OTHER SERVICE CONDITIONS:
(1) PAY BAND-3 RS.15600-39100 PLUS GRADE PAY RS.5400/-.
(2) Allowances as per Central Government Rules are admissible on the above pay Scale.
(3) Benefits of new restructured defined contributory Pension system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECD & PR Division), Notification No.5/7/2003-ECD & PR dated 22.12.2003 effective from 1.1.2004.
(4) Private practice is not allowed. However, non-practicing allowance is admissible to medical graduates only as per rules.
(5) Applications from employees working in Central/State Govt. Departments/Public Sector Undertakings and Govt. funded research agencies must be forwarded through proper channel. Advance copies of application will be considered subject to the conditions that a "No Objection Certificate" from the employer is produced at the time of personal discussion. A position of Officer on Special Duty( Admn)   is  to be filled up on a purely temporary contract  basis in the  Coordinating Unit of  NIMR   for IDVC Project of ICMR. The Essential qualifications, experience, age , consolidated salary and the job requirements of the post are given below:-
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate retired officer of Government/PSU/Autonomous  bodies   possessing  15 years of experience of administrative work  at the level of Section Officer and above . Practical knowledge of computer applications and internet  is must.
AGE: Below 65 years on the date of recruitment.
CONSOLIDATED SALARY : Rs. 40,000/- P.M.  subject to revision  periodically as per ICMR norms.
JOB REQUIREMENT: To handle all  matters relating to  the IDVC Project  . 
 The place of duty for the post would be the coordinating unit of the project located at the above address.
The staff will be engaged initially for a period of one year and co-terminus with the project but the period of engagement may be curtailed or extended at the discretion of the competent authority. Recruitment of Project Assistant in CDRI
One Project JRF is required to work in the ICMR project (GAP0093) entitled: “Preclinical studies of a novel phytoestrogen-‘like’ compound for the management of postmenopausal osteoporosis”.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:• M.Sc. in any area of Life Science
• Should have first class in all board and University exams and more than 65% in postgraduate level
• Should be NET qualified
Preference will be given to candidate who has research and development exposure in wet lab set up in pharmaceutical company or academic organizations..
PROJECT DURATION: 3 years
STIPEND: Rs. 16,000/pm + 20% HRA
AGE LIMIT: 28 years

The terms and conditions of engagement are as under:-
Terms & Conditions of Offer of Engagement for the Project Assistant
1. It is not an offer of appointment in CDRI/CSIR, temporary or otherwise. It is a contract co-terminus with the Project. It would, therefore, not confer any right implicit or explicit for your consideration for regularization/absorption in any of the Labs. /Instts. Of CSIR or under any other scheme as applicable to identified casual workers against any of CSIR posts, even if engagement/contract or  deployment/placement is for more than 240/206 days in a year.
2. Your engagement as Project Assistant is for the Project as mentioned above is for a period of One Year/termination of the project which as earlier from the date of joining and coterminus, with the present Project or till such time the job performed by you in the Project exist and your engagement is specifically extended by Director, whichever is earlier. Your tenure as Project Assistant shall not exceed five years in any circumstances. The total tenure of five years shall be calculated as per period you spent on one project and/or different project taken together in CDRI or any other Lab./Instt. of CSIR and Project Assistant or any other designation of equal status.
3. No traveling allowance will be admissible to you for reporting on duty.
4. No automatic shifting is allowed from one project to another project.
5. You will not be allowed to discontinue your engagement without seeking prior approval of the Director, CDRI. In case you wish to discontinue the engagement prior to completion of your tenure, you must submit one month’s prior notice indicating specific reasons for not continuing or deposit one month’s emoluments/stipend in lieu of the notice period. The  engagement shall cease from the date stipulated by the Director while accepting the resignation.
You may discontinue from the Project work by depositing one month’s consolidated amount in lieu thereof without assigning any reason and will have no right against CSIR in any circumstances.
6. You will not divulge any information relating to the work of CDRI, which you may come to know during your engagement with CDRI to any party.
7. Your engagement will be subjected to the production of the following documents at your own expense at the time of your reporting of duty.
• Medical Certificate of health and physical fitness for service issued by the Resident Medical Officer/Lady Medical Officer of CSIR Dispensary or the Competent Authority where there is no CSIR Dispensary.
• Documentary evidence in support of your date of birth and qualifications.
• Attestation forms (duly completed), Character Certificate, countersigned by the District Magistrate/Sub-divisional Magistrate in the enclosed form.
8. The Director, CDRI whose decision shall be final and binding on both the parties to the contract, shall determine any matter not specifically stated therein.
9. You will not be allowed for Ph. D registration.
