WALK-IN-INTERVIEW
It is proposed to fill up the temporary and time bound positions of Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow and Junior Research Fellow on contractual basis under the following projects. The eligible and desirous candidates fulfilling all the requirements are invited to appear before the Selection Committee for interview at V.P.K.A.S. (ICAR), Almora on 04.01.2012 at 10.00 AM.
1. DBT funded project on “Rapid conversion of normal maize inbreds to quality protein maize and further enhancement of limiting amino acids in elite inbreds through marker-assisted selection”.
NAME OF POST: Research Associate (1 post)
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: M.Sc./M.Sc. (Ag.) in Biotechnology/ Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology.
EXPERIENCE: Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques used in gene mapping, MAS, transformation and cloning.
EMOLUMENT (Pre-revised) : 16,000/- + HRA per month for Master Degree.
17,000/- + HRA per month for Ph.D. holders.
2. DBT funded project “Pyramiding multiple resistance genes using MAS for durable resistance against blast in the North West Himalayas”.
NAME OF POST: Junior Research Fellow (1 post)
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: M.Sc./M.Sc. (Ag.) in Biotechnology/ Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology.
EXPERIENCE: Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques used in gene mapping, MAS, transformation and cloning.
EMOLUMENT (PRE-REVISED) : 12,000/- + HRA per month.
3. NAIP funded project “ Bioprospecting of genes and allele mining for abiotic stress tolerance (Rice and Maize) ”.
NAME OF POST: Senior Research Fellow (1 post)
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: M.Sc./M.Sc. (Ag.) in Biotechnology/ Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology.
EXPERIENCE: Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques used allele mining, transformation and cloning.
EMOLUMENT: 16,000/- + HRA per month.
4. “Enabling small holders to improve their livelihoods and benefit from carbon finance” under NAIP Component – I of ICAR.
NAME OF POST: Senior Research Fellow (1 post)
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: M.Sc./M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agronomy/ Agroforestry/ Horticulture (Pomology) with 1st division and 60% marks at Postgraduate level.
EXPERIENCE: i) Experience in working with farmers in rural areas.
ii) Experience in use of Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point)
iii) Experience in use of GIS and GPS software.
EMOLUMENT: 16,000/- + HRA per month.
AGE LIMIT FOR RA/SRF/JRF.
For RA - The upper age limit is 40 years for men and 45 years for women on the date of interview (relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC as per GOI/ICAR norms)
For SRF - The upper age limit is 35 years for men and 40 years for women on the date of interview (relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC as per GOI/ICAR norms)
For JRF - The upper age limit is 30 years for men and 35 years for women on the date of interview (relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC as per GOI/ICAR norms)
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. The posts are purely temporary on contractual basis and co-terminus with the projects.
2. The applicants must bring their bio-data (affixed with recent passport size photograph) along with original and photocopies of mark sheets and certificates of all examinations passed.
3. No T.A. will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
4. The selection of candidates doesn’t entail on them any right for absorption/ regularization at VPKAS (ICAR), Almora or any other sister concern including ICAR Headquarter.
5. The Director’s decision will be final and binding in all respects.
