Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar invites applications from qualified Indian Nationals for the faculty positions at the level of Professor, Associate Professors and Assistant professors in the various departments of the Institute. 1. The above mentioned vacancies are indicative and subject to change as per requirement.
2. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged persons will be as per Government of India norms.
3. Candidates with Master’s Degree will be considered only for appointment as Assistant Professors on contract basis for three years on consolidated salary of minimum Basic Pay in PB-3 along with AGP- Rs.6000. The performance and progress of the Assistant Professors on contract towards acquiring PhD degree will be monitored continuously. Such persons will be regularized w. e. f. date of joining on acquiring PhD degree.

Bachelor’s degree in (Engineering/Technology) Biotechnology, Master’s degree in (Engineering/Technology) Biotechnology, PhD with areas of specialization: Bioprocess Engineering, Microbial Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, Cell and Tissue Culture, Bioinformatics, Enzyme Technology, Environmental Biotechnology, Immunology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology


GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS / INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES
1. Only applications in the prescribed application format will be accepted, for detail see “How to Apply”. Candidates applying for more than one Department/ Post are required to submit separate applications along with all enclosures.
2. Depending upon the response of the qualified candidates the institute reserves the rights to restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of short listing criteria.  Different departments of the institute may set short listing criteria as per their requirement.
3. Apart from qualification and experience, the candidates with required areas of specialization within a department being given preference.
4. The short listed candidates are required to give presentation in their respective area of specialization followed by interview.
5. The Institute reserves the right to offer the faculty positions on Regular/Contract basis. The appointments on contract shall be for a maximum period of 3 (Three) years.
6. Candidates in service should send their applications through proper channel. If original application is routed through proper channel, a photocopy of the application should be sent in advance before the prescribed last date. Such candidates are required to produce “No Objection Certificate” at the time of interview.
7. All Degree Certificates should be from a UGC/AICTE/Govt. recognized University/Institute.
8. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding reason for not being called for interview / outcome of interview.
9. The candidate is responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. If it is found at a later date that any information given in the application is incorrect/false the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/terminated.
10. An outstanding candidate with established reputation in the relevant area, who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned areas of specialization will be substantiated by credentials.
11. Candidates must enclose a detailed academic profile including the following information
i. Details of publications chronologically giving details of : Names of authors, title of the paper, name of the journal/conference, volume / proceedings, pages, year etc. in Journals and Conferences - Attach copies of three best (in your opinion) Refereed Journal papers
ii. Details of Awards, patents, prizes etc. Nature and name of Prize/Award, Name of the patent, year and details about the patent etc.
iii. Details of Research guidance (PhD /M.S. /M.Tech. /M.Sc./MBA): Research degree name of the scholar, title of thesis, year of award, co-guide, if any, etc.
iv. Details of research/consultancy projects carried out: Title of the project, duration, sponsor, value, co-investigators, if any, etc.

v. Other activities: Text books and Monographs written with publication details, Continuing Education Programmes /Conferences organized.
vi. Any other relevant but brief information on your academic standing.
Academic Reimbursements and Incentives
1. The Academic reimbursements and incentives like Professional Development Allowance, monthly Telephone charge reimbursements shall be as per the Institute rules.
2. Suitable residential accommodation as per rules subject to availability will be provided in the Campus of the institute. HRA may be paid in lieu of residential accommodation.
HOW TO APPLY
1. Interested candidates may apply in the prescribed application format, which may be accessed from the Institute web site http://www.nitj.ac.in. Institute shall accept the application only on prescribed application format.
2. Application forms complete in all respects along with photocopies of certificates, list of publications, reprints of publications and a detailed research plan should reach to ”The Registrar, Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar-144011, Punjab, INDIA”, on or before 15th December 2011.
3. Application forms with adequate information as required in the format completed in all respects received on or before 15th December 2011 shall be sent for consideration in the forthcoming round of selection process. Application received after this date may be considered in the next forthcoming selection round or deferred to the next round depending on administrative convenience.
4. Incomplete application forms and application without photograph, signature, etc will not be entertained. Following copies of marks cards/grade cards/certificates etc. must be attached:
a. Degree certificates
b. Marks/grade cards at all levels starting from matric onward
c. Experience certificate
d. Summer/Winter schools attended/organized
5. Candidates in service will have to send their application though proper channel. If original application is routed through proper channel, a photocopy of the application should be sent in advance before the prescribed last date. Such candidates are required to produce “No Objection Certificate” at the time of interview.
6. If situation demands Institute would choose to inform the candidate through more than one means like email, fax, phone etc. So, complete address for communication may be furnished by the respective candidates.
7. Submit separate applications for different posts if the candidate wishes to apply for more than one post.
8. There is no application fee or registration fee. Candidates called for interview will be paid TA/DA (3 tier AC/Sleeper Class by the shortest train route) as per Institute rules.
