Postdoctoral fellowship at National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, Research Triangle Park, NC

National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, Research Triangle Park, NC
A postdoctoral fellowship is immediately available at NIH / National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, to participate in an ongoing research program investigating the role of environmental and genetic factors in the development of Parkinson's disease and other age-related chronic diseases.
Current work involves several large prospective cohorts, for example, the NIH-AARP Diet and Health Study (http://dietandhealth.cancer.gov/parkinsons.html ). In addition to etiological research on risk factors for Parkinson's disease, we are studying Parkinson's premotor symptoms (e.g. poor sense of smell and depression), which may help us to diagnose the disease early and to understand its early etiology.
REQUIREMENTS:
We welcome all applicants with a background in epidemiology. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in genetic epidemiology and/or research on premotor symptoms. Candidates should have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree.
NIH offers excellent salary and health care packages to its trainees. NIEHS has consistently been ranked among the best places to work for postdoctoral fellows. The position will remain open until filled.
TO APPLY:
For prompt consideration, send the following items to chenh2@niehs.nih.gov  :
Letter describing areas of research interest
Curriculum vitae with bibliography
PDFs of 1 or 2 recent publications
Contact information for 3 individuals serving as references

PostDoc position at NIAID, Bethesda

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Bethesda, MD and surrounding area
Our laboratory investigates multiple aspects of cell surface receptors that regulate immune function, from regulation of expression and signaling mechanisms to cellular dynamics and function. The current studies have evolved from an historical interest in receptors important for natural killer (NK) cell function. Our current research is focused in three related areas: 1) regulation of expression of the NK cell activating receptors, NKG2D-DAP10 and CD16, with the hope of enhancing the immunotherapeutic value of NK cells; 2) role of lytic granule proteins in regulating NK cell cytolytic activity; 3) role of the orphan receptors, CD300s, Toso (FcμR) and LAIR-1, regulating inflammation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or MD and less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience. The Laboratory of Immunogenetics is located in an NIH satellite campus near the Twinbrook Metro Station in Rockville that houses about 30 senior investigators and several hundred research fellows.
TO APPLY:
Candidates should submit a CV, including contact information for three letters of reference, and a personal statement describing research accomplishments and plans to:
