PostDoctoral Fellow(Neuroendocrine Adaptation to Stress) at Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Bethesda

Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Bethesda, MD and surrounding area
POST: PostDoctoral Fellow(Neuroendocrine Adaptation to Stress)
A post doctoral fellow position will be available in the Section of Endocrine Physiology (SEP) of the Program in Developmental Endocrinology and Genetics (PDEGEN), at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, beginning August 2012. SEP investigates the neuroendocrine mechanisms of adaptation to stress using a combination of physiological, molecular, biochemical, and epigenetic approaches. Available projects focus either on the transcriptional regulation of stress related neuropeptides, or the molecular mechanisms determining pulsatile glucocorticoid secretion at the adrenal and pituitary glands, or the effects of early life experiences or alterations in glucocorticoid secretion on the transcriptome and epigenome. The laboratory is located in the main Campus at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. The research environment in NICHD is excellent and offers outstanding opportunities for training.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates should have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, and must have less than 5 years of postdoctoral research experience. Applicants should have an excellent background in molecular and cell biology, be self-driven and be highly motivated to work in research with the aim to become independent investigators. Experience or the will to become proficient in performing in vivo work with rats and mice is also a requirement.
TO APPLY:
Please send a cover letter with a brief description of research experience and interests, CV, and names of three references to:
