  A Walk-in-Interview forselection of candidates for the positions of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under the DBT funded project on "Genetic Enhancement of Indigenous Aromatic Rice of Assam (oha Rice) using genomic Approach with Particular Reference to Aroma" will be held at the Office of the undersigned. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.

 NAME OF THE POST: Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: M. Sc.(Agri) in Plant Breeding & Genetics and Genetics/Agricultural Biotechnology/ Agricultural Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology and Biotechnology/ M.Sc in Biotechnology and allied fileds of life sciences

 PAY & ALLOWANCES: Rs 14000/- + HRA

 DURATION: 3 years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier (subject to the satisfactory performance)

Interested eligible candidates are requested to appear before a selection committee on January 31, 2012 at 11 AM. in the Room 214, Immunology & Regenerative Medicine Research Laboratory, Department of Zoology, University of Calcutta (Ballygunge Campus), 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata: 700019 to work as Research Fellow in the DBT sponsored project entitled “DEVELOPMENT OF A NOVEL FORMAT OF STABLE SINGLE CHAIN ANTIBODIES AGAINST Staphylococcus aureus AND ALLERGEN-SPECIFIC IgE IN ALLERGIC ASTHMA” (Sanction. No. 609-BT (Estt.)/RD-23/09 dt. 29-11-2011). Tenure of the project is up to 2014. The PI on the project is Dr. Ena Ray Banerjee, Reader, Dept of Zoology.

POST: Junior Research Fellow(1 post)

QUALIFICATION: M.Sc. degree (Any stream of Life Sciences viz. Zoology, Botany, Microbiology,Biochemistry, Molecular Biology) or M.Tech. in Biotechnology with first class.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE: Experience in Molecular Biology techniques such as cloning and expression, phage, bacterial, yeast display systems, antibody selection by HTS.

REMUNERATION: Rs. 12,000/- p.m. (consolidated)

DURATION: Two years

DESIRED QUALIFICATION: NET or SLET qualified candidates will be given preference.
