‘B’ in the Pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100 + 5400 (Grade Pay) and one post of
Scientist ‘C’ in the Pay Band of Rs.15,600-39,100/- + Grade Pay of Rs.6600/-
plus NPA, at the National Institute of Occupational Health, Ahmedabad /
Regional Occupational Health Centre at Bangalore / Kolkata.

The incumbent may be
posted at the National Institute of Occupational Health, Ahmedabad / Regional
Occupational Health
Centre at Bangalore / Kolkata.

Scientist ‘B’ (Statistics/Biostatistics) (reserved for Orthopaedical
Handicapped (PH) Orthopaedical:
Essential
qualification:(i) First Class Master’s Degree in Statistics/Biostatistics from a
recognized University Or 2nd class M.Sc. with Ph.D. degree in
Statistics/Biostatistics from a recognized University.
Desirable
qualification:(i) Doctorate Degree in Statistics/Biostatistics from a recognized
University for candidates with First Class
relevant degree.
(ii) Additional Post
doctoral research/teaching experience in medical/health subjects in recognized
Institute(s).
(iii) Knowledge of
Computer Applications.
Job Requirement:Experience in
statistical design for population/epidemiological/environmental studies.
Advanced knowledge
in Statistical
Software and Database management/GIS related applications.

Desirable
qualification
i. MD or Doctorate
Degree in Chemistry (Organic/Analytical/Biochemistry) from a recognized

Job Requirement for
Post No.2&3: To undertake independent research and participate in multi
disciplinary team work in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health.
To assist in institutional infrastructure and project development; and resource
generation. Good knowledge in Analytical methods and techniques in assessing environmental
pollutants, biological and environmental monitoring using Atomic absorption
spectrophometry,
Post No. (4) Scientist
‘C’ (Medicine) (Unreserved): Essential qualification:
(i) MBBS Degree
recognized by MCI with two years experience or equivalent Or First Class
Master’s degree
in required subject
or equivalent degree from recognized University.
(ii) Four years
research experience in the relevant subjects after obtaining essential
qualification
Desirable
qualification: (i) M.D. or Doctorate degree in the related subjects from a
recognized University for a candidate with 1st Class relevant degree
(ii) Additional Post
doctoral research/teaching experience in relevant subjects in recognized
Institute(s).
(iii) Knowledge of
Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools/Data Management.
Job Requirement: To undertake
independent research programme, educational activity and publication in
multi-disciplinary team work in the field of Occupational and Environmental
Health. To assist in Institutional infrastructure development and extra-mural
research grant generation. R&D experience in epidemiological studies in General
Medicine/Pulmonary Medicine /Chest Medicine, with special reference to
occupational and environmental health. Experience in related laboratory
infrastructure development.
Age: Not exceeding 35
years for Scientist ‘B’ and not exceeding 40 years for Scientist ‘C’.
Relaxable up to 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates in
accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and
Training from time to time in this regard.
One time age
relaxation is also allowed to Scientific and Technical Staff working in long
term projects in
ICMR
Institutes/Centres for posts advertised under HRSC, 2007, provided they meet
essential qualifications and experience for the posts with a view to provide
them opportunity to compete with other candidates as per Council’s letter No.
6/1/2007-Admn.II dated 28.3.2011.
General Relaxation
clause: Age, qualification and experience will be relaxable in deserving
cases as
mentioned in the
Recruitment Rules of Health Research Scientists Cadre of ICMR, 2007 under Rule-14
and Notes 1&2 of Schedule-III.
Other Service
Conditions:
(1) Post No. 1, 2,
& 3: Pay Band of Rs.15,600-39,100/- + Grade Pay Rs.5400/-
Post No. 4: Pay Band
of Rs.15,600-39,100/- + Grade Pay Rs.6600/- + NPA
(2) Allowances as per
Central Government Rules are admissible n the above pay scales.
(3) Benefits of new
restructured defined Contributory Pension system are admissible as per the
provision
contained in the
Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division),
Notification
No. 5/7/2003-ECB
& PR dated 22-12-2003 effective from 01-01-2004.
(4) Private practice
is not allowed. However, non practicing allowance is admissible to medical
graduates
only as per rules.
(5) Applications from
employees working in Central/State Govt. Departments/Public Sector Undertakings
and Govt. funded
research agencies must be forwarded through Proper Channel. Advance copies of
application will be
considered subject to the conditions that a “No Objection Certificate” from the
employer is produced
at the time of personal discussion. Application received after the closing date
will
not be considered.
Candidates called for personal discussion/interview have the option to answer
in
Hindi also.

3. The applicant
willing to apply in more than one post must send separate applications.
4. Documents to be
enclosed with the application form (copies attested by the Gazetted Officer)
(a) proof
of date of birth, (b)
educational qualification, (c) experience.
(d) Crossed Indian
Postal Order (IPO) for Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) payable to the
Director, NIOH,
Ahmedabad. SC/ST/PH and women candidates are exempted from the application
fees. IPOs are
payable by all other candidates including ICMR employees.
5.
Unsigned/incomplete application or application without supportive evidence
asked for/without postal
order/application
received late are liable to be summarily rejected.
Notes:
(i) M.D./Ph.D. Degree
in subjects relevant to Indian Council of Medical Research shall be treated
equivalent to three
years experience.
(ii) Candidates with
MD or Ph.D. or M.Tech degree will be preferred for direct recruitment.
(iii) Since it is not
possible to call all the eligible candidates for the interview/personal
discussion, the
applicants will be
short-listed in this regard. The decision of the Director General, ICMR will be
final in
this regard.
(iv) Candidates
called for interview will be paid Second Class Rail Fare by the shortest route
on production of documents.
(v) Any canvassing by
or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or outside influence with
regard to selection/recruitment shall be ground for disqualification.
(vi) These posts are
with all India transfer liability under the Council.
