Applications are invited for engagement as SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW/RESEARCH ASSOCIATE in the Environmental Information System (ENVIS) Centre on Wildlife & Protected Areas at the Wildlife Institute of India, an autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India (GOI).
ELIGIBILITY FOR SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW:
1. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :(i) Masters’ Degree in Wildlife Sciences/Biological Sciences in First Class with two years of wildlife research experience;
2.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:(i) Skills in the design, development and management of computerized databases; (ii) Good knowledge of Wildlife Science; (iii) Experience of working in National Parks/ Wildlife Sanctuaries; (iv) Experience in documentation and publications.
3. CONSOLIDATED EMOLUMENTS: Rs. 14,000/ month.
4. AGE: Candidate should be below 32 years of age as on 27th January, 2012. (Relaxable in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ Women upto a maximum of five years).
ELIGIBILITY FOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE:
1. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :(i) Doctorate degree in Zoology/ Botany/ Wildlife Sciences/ Enivromental Sciences/ Life Sciences
2.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:(i) Proven record of peer-reviewed publications (ii) Skills in the design, development and management of computerized databases; (iii) Good knowledge of Wildlife Science; (iv) Experience of working in National Parks/ Wildlife Sanctuaries.
3. CONSOLIDATED EMOLUMENTS: Rs. 22,000/ month.
4. AGE: Candidate should be below 40 years of age as on 27th January, 2012 (Relaxable in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ Women upto a maximum of five years).
GENERAL
1. Engagement on the above position will be purely on a temporary basis, initially for one year from the date of engagement and likely to be extended for further periods, depending upon the requirement.
2. The selection of the shortlisted candidates will be based on personal interview likely to be held in 7th February, 2012.
3. The selected candidates will be governed by the Institute’s rules, amended from time to time.
4. Canvassing in any form is liable to rejection of the candidature.

Interested candidates may send their typed applications on A-4 size plain paper duly indicating (1) Post Applied for; (2) Name in Full; (3) Date & Place of birth; (4) Nationality; (5) Name of the Parent/spouse; (6) Address for correspondence (in block letters) including telephone, fax, email (if any); (7) Permanent address; (8) Whether SC/ST/OBC; (9) Record of Educational/ professional qualifications starting from SSC/SSLC/Matriculation onwards indicating clearly the examination passed, University/Board, year of passing, class and percentage of marks and subjects opted; (10) Details of previous/present employment held, if any, in chronological order starting from most recent position held (indicating the name of the employer with full address, post held, salary drawn, period of service, nature of duties); (11) Name and complete address of three referees; (12) Passport size photograph to be pasted on the right side of the application; (13) Duly attested copies in respect of age, SC/ST/OBC status, Essential and Desirable Qualifications, Educational Qualifications, employment etc. should be submitted along with the application; (14) List of peer-reviewed publications should be attached. (15) Incomplete application and without supporting certificates will be summarily rejected; (16) The following declaration: I affirm that the information given in this application is true and correct. I also fully understand that if at any stage it is discovered that any attempt has been made by me to wilfully conceal or mis-represent the facts, my candidature may be summarily rejected or my employment terminated; (17) The contractual engagement would be purely on project need basis and will not entitle to claim any regular employment in the Institute or to claim any absorption or regularization in the Institute after the end of the project; and (18) A soft copy of the application should also be sent in a CD (19) Signature of the candidate with date.
