XXVII Certificate Course in Wildlife Management
Wildlife Institute is an internationally acclaimed autonomous institution under the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India. Capacity building has always been seen as a means of empowerment for strengthening conservation of biological diversity. Accordingly, to provide a foundation of basic concepts of wildlife science and to impart appropriate knowledge on wildlife conservation issues and challenges, a 3-month Certificate Course in Wildlife Management beginning 1st November is being organized.
The course offers opportunities of interaction with peers, experience sharing with Protected Area managers and practical learning. It involves visit to various protected areas for field exposure and interactive classroom teaching. The course covers subjects ranging from introduction to wildlife species and habitats, population ecology and management, wildlife health, human dimensions and application of tools and techniques in population estimation and monitoring of wild animal.
The course is open to Indian and Foreign nationals below the age of 40 years.
ELIGIBILITY: Indian and Foreign nationals having Graduate Degree in Biological Sciences/Forestry/Environmental Science are eligible to apply.
COURSE FEE: Rs. 1,68,000 for Indian nationals and US $ 3,625 for foreign nationals. It includes boarding and lodging, field gear and equipment for the entire duration of the course.
The last date for submitting the applications is October 15, 2011.
