PROJECT TITLE: Discovering Antimalarials From Marine Organisms (phase III): Bulk Recollection of Promising Marine Organisms – Isolation Purification, Characterization and Chemical Synthesis of Marine Derived Antimalarials

JOB DESCRIPTION: The candidate required for the project must have a keen sense of disciplined passion for drug discovery which involves (a) culture of malaria parasite and quantitative estimation of inhibition of growth by drugs, (b) vision for activity guided high performance chromatographic purification of active molecules, (c) spectroscopic characterization of active molecules towards structure determination, (d) evaluation of the in vivo efficacy of test molecules in mouse model of malaria. An inquisitive mind that enjoys hard work and who has a habit of maintaining a good record book will be preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate should have M.Sc. or equivalent and two years of research experience. The academic background preference is degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Biotechnology from a reputed university.
