A. Applications are invited from
the eligible candidates (Indian Nationals Only) on a plain paper for the temporary
post in the research project titled “Identification and molecular tagging of virulence and pathogenesis genes
of powdery mildew fungus (Erysiphe pisi) using genomic tools”
(SR/SO/BB02/2010) sponsored by Department of Science and Technology (DST), New
Delhi as mentioned below:
NAME OF POST: Field (Lab) Assistant
NO. OF POSTS: 1
STIPEND P.M.(IN RS): Rs. 7,000/ p.m.
TENURE OF THE POST: Initially one year and
extendable till the duration of the project
REQUIREMENTS FOR
THE POST:
QUALIFICATIONS
1. B.Sc., Botany/Zoology or
Biology with a minimum of ONE or more years of experience in handling
office/laboratory works
OR
2. Intermediate pass with Bi.P.C.
group possessing at least 2nd class and 4years or more of experience in
handling office/laboratory works
AND
3. Should have experience in the
following tasks
i. Field work that requires growing plants and
ability to follow PIs instructions in carrying out field experiments
ii. Glasshouse and laboratory
cleaning and maintenance; purchase of fertilizers and soil, weeding and
watering plants.
iii. Washing glassware in the
laboratory and operating autoclaves
iv. Making laboratory media and
culture plates; mycobaterial and fungal cultures and computer handling
v. Document or paper work for
equipment and chemical ordering
A. Applicants should note that
the appointments to be made are purely temporary and based on the duration of
the project. There is no right for claiming for any regular appointment in the
University.
B. The job shall be terminated in
case the employee does not meet the standards of work or failing to improve
after a cautionary warning. TA/DA will not be paid for attending the interview
or at the time of joining the post.
C. The application should be
submitted accompanied by attested copies of educational and experience
certificates in support of all information furnished in the application. * Mark
in the application form enclosed with the advertisement indicates compulsory
enclosure of attested copies of certificates.
D. Large part of the work is
field based like ploughing, planting, watering of plants, soil tilling and
fertilizer application. Selected candidates should be amenable and willing to
undertake this type of work.
E. Last date for the receipt of
