Applications are invited in prescribed form for the posts of Assistant Professors in different Academic Departments of the University as detailed and available at the University website.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

As per New UGC Regulations No.F.3-1/2009 dt. 30.06.2010 as notified by the Gazette of India dated 18.9.2010 (please visit the UGC Website www.ugc.ac.in for details).

The words 'SC & ST' against any post will mean reservation of post for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates / categories respectively.

Appointments of other categories will be made as per Govt. norms on availability of suitable candidates.

Appointments will be made on probation for one year which may be waived or extended in exceptional cases and will be guided by the rules as framed and / or amended from time to time. During or at the end of the period of probation, the services of the concerned Teacher may be terminated with one month's notice or with one month's salary in lieu thereof, without assigning any reason thereof. On satisfactory completion of the probationary period the concerned incumbent will be considered for being confirmed in service. Stipulations in respect of Experience and Age may be relaxed by the Syndicate in case of exceptionally brilliant candidates on the recommendation of the relevant Selection Committee. The choice of the Selecting Authority need not necessarily be confined only to those who formally apply. Candidates already in employment should apply through proper channel.

Applications (7 copies) in prescribed form to be downloaded from the University Website or obtainable from the University Sales Counter, 87/1, College Street, Kolkata-73, on payment of Rs. 300/- (Rs.75/- for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates on submission of appropriate documents to the Sales Counter) should reach the office of the undersigned not later than the 17th December, 2011. All relevant information like API (Academic Performance Indicator), etc. required in accordance with the New UGC Regulations No. F.3 -1/2009 dt. 30.06.2010 are to be provided on separate sheets and to be attached with the application forms. The submission of API by applicants for the post of Assistant Professor will be treated as optional for the candidates having no Teaching Experience .

Those who will download the prescribed forms from the Website of the University are required to attach a Bank Demand Draft of Rs. 300 /- (Rs.75/¬- for SC/ST/ Physically Handicapped candidates alongwith appropriate documents) or US $20 drawn in favour of the Registrar, University of Calcutta, alongwith the filled-in prescribed forms.

National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, INDIA, is an autonomous institution funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), New Delhi. NCCS is reputed for combining high quality services with outstanding research. The services offered by NCCS include cell line establishment, maintenance and distribution to researchers. Principal research themes encompass areas in Cell Biology including stem cells, development and cell signalling; Cancer Biology; Infection and Immunity; and Eukaryotic Gene Regulation. Research at NCCS has been acknowledged to be among the best in the country as evidenced by a large number of high impact and well-cited publications, and a faculty that has achieved some of the highest “h” indices in the country.

 NCCS is strategically located on the University of Pune campus, which has a long and distinguished history in its contributions to the modern Indian society.  NCCS needs Project Assistants purely on temporary basis for secretarial work. Age upto 30 years. The candidate should possess minimum qualification of B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. and should have working knowledge of Typing, Shorthand and Computer.
