ROLE
OF CYTOKINES IN MAINTENANCE OF STEM/PROGENITOR CELL CHARACTERISTICS
NATIONAL
INSTITUTE OF DIABETES AND DIGESTIVE AND KIDNEY DISEASES, BETHESDA, MD
A postdoctoral
position is available in the Molecular Cell Biology Section of the Molecular
Medicine Branch, NIDDK, to study the role of cytokines in maintaining
stem/progenitor cell characteristics including cytoprotection and metabolic
response during stress. Emphasis is on transcriptional regulation,
proliferation/differentiation, stress/ischemic response and glucose
metabolism/obesity. The laboratory is particularly interested in multi-tissue
response to erythropoietin including hematopoietic, neuronal, muscle,
endothelial, fat and other stem/progenitor cells and IPS cells.
Requirements:
Motivated candidates
must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree and less than 5 years postdoctoral
experience, and demonstrated skills in conducting experiments involving
molecular biology and use of mouse models. Applicant must have excellent verbal
and written communication skills.
To Apply:
Please send cover
