Project Assistant vacancy at IIT, Madras

Applications are invited for temporary post of SENIOR PROJECT ASSISTANT for the JICA sponsored project on “INFORMATION NETWORK FOR NATURAL DISASTER MITIGATION AND RECOVERY PROJECT (DISANET)” in the in the Dept. of ELECTRICAL ENGG. This project is jointly carried out by IIT Madras, IIT Hyderabad and KEIO University, Japan together with other research institutions in India and Japan.

DURATION: Initially for a period of One year.
QUALIFICATION: Graduate in any discipline with good secretarial skills.
EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of prior experience
EMOLUMENTS: Rs.8, 000 – 25,000/-
DESIRABLE:
1. Computer skills: Word processor, spread sheet
2. Communication skills: e-mail, answering telephone calls
3. Experience in dealing with accounts, arranging meetings, handling people
4. Experience in IIT Madras project.
REQUIREMENT: Immediate
Other things being equal, preference will be given to SC/ST candidates.
The Co-ordinator has the discretion to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the announcement.
