GENERAL RECRUITMENT (INFORMATION BROCHURE)
Applications in the prescribed form, together with a Registration Fee of Rs.500/-(Rupees five hundred only) payable through Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Osmania University, Hyderabad-500 007 , payable at Hyderabad, are invited for the post of Assistant Professors in the Pay Scale of Rs.15600-39100+AGP Rs.6000 (UGC RSP 2006) in the University Service so as to reach the undersigned in person or by post by 5:00 p.m. on or before 27.04.2012.

AGE: The relaxation of age limit is extended to all the qualified candidates in addition to the inservice candidate for appointment of Assistant Professor in the University service.
Hence, there is no upper age limit for all eligible candidates.
QUALIFICATIONS
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in Environmental Science from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree* in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
iv. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

FORENSIC SCIENCE
i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in Forensic Science from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in Biotechnology from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree* in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.

NOTE-I: i. A relaxation of 5% may be provided (applicable to Group-I and II posts only) at the graduate and Master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% marks to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace marks procedures.
ii. A relaxation of 5% marks may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.
iii. The candidates belonging to BC, SC and ST categories shall apply duly enclosing the Caste Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (MRO/Tahsildar).
iv. As per G.O.Ms.No.65 Gen. Administration (Ser.D) Department, dated 15.02.1997 and G.O.Ms.No.116 Social Welfare (CV-1) Department, dated 10.12.1999 the recruitment for reserved categories will be made as under:
“If in any recruitment, qualified candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes (Group-A,B,C and D), as the case may be, and women are not available for appointment to any or all the vacancies reserved for them, a limited recruitment confined to candidates belonging to them shall be made immediately after the general recruitment to select and appoint qualified candidates from among the persons belonging to these communities to fill such reserved vacancies”.
NOTE-II: THE UNIVERSITY PENSION SCHEME IS NOT APPLICABLE TO THE APPOINTEES. THEY WILL BE GOVERNED BY CONTRIBUTORY PENSION SCHEME OF OSMANIA UNIVERSITY. OTHER SERVICE CONDITIONS SHALL BE THE SAME AS APPLICABLE TO THE UNIVERSITY TEACHERS.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
1. The latest passport size photograph should be affixed to the application form.
2. The University reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason.
3. Filling of vacancies depends on the exigencies of Teaching work. The University reserves the right to increase or decrease the no.of posts or not to fill up the notified posts.
4. Candidates already in service must submit their applications through proper channel. They may, however, send an advance copy but, if called for interview, they must produce a “No Objection Certificate “ from their employer.
5. Candidates will have to present themselves for an interview at their own expenses.
6. Candidates should bring all “Certificates in Original” for the interview.
7. Incomplete applications are liable to be REJECTED.
The University reserves the right to withdraw or cancel the notification without assigning any reasons. Any dispute concerning this notification shall be subject to jurisdiction of Courts in Hyderabad only.

The eligible candidates can apply in response to the present notification in the prescribed form together with a registration fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) through Demand Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Osmania University payable at Hyderabad. Prescribed application form along with the details of age, qualifications, and the relevant conditions etc., can be obtained from the Director, Departmet of Publications and Press, Osmania University, Hyderabad- 500 007 on payment of Rs.75/- in person or by post by sending a D.D. for Rs.100/- drawn in favour of the Director, Department of Publications and Press, Osmania University, Hyderabad 500 007 along with a self-addressed envelope. Applications and details can also be downloaded from the University Website www.osmania.ac.in. The filled in downloaded forms are accepted with a registration fee of Rs.575/- payable through Demand Draft only, drawn in favour of the Registrar, Osmania University, Hyderabad – 500 007, A.P., payable at Hyderabad.
The filled in application of the candidates should reach the undersigned in person or by Post by 5.00 p.m. on or before 27.04.2012. The University is not responsible for any postal delay. Any proof of posting/dispatch shall not be entertained for applications received after the last date.
