Informatics is playing a crucial role in research and clinical practice, in areas ranging from the use of bioinformatics tools to understand human genetics to the role of health informatics in maintaining patient information. This attains more importance as there has been an avalanche of information which has made it essential to share, analyze and retrieve data. This workshop will be the first step to manage and exploit the resources as well as use the various software tools available on the web. The basics of information retrieval, medical databases, data mining tools including sequence analysis will be covered. This workshop is aimed at medical students and graduates who are desirous of using informatics in their clinical work.
The workshop is being fully supported by ICMR. There is no course fee. The selected students will, however, have to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. Preference will be given to applicants from in and around Delhi. A maximum of 25 participants will be selected.
