POST: Junior Research Fellow
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Executing field, laboratory and glasshouse experiments relevant to agriculturally beneficial microorganisms (particularly isolation, characterization and identification of antifungal actinomycetes)
· Testing various delivery systems for effective management of soilborne plant pathogens.
· Maintain and update electronic databases and statistical analysis of experimental data.
· Assist the scientist in the preparation of technical reports.
· Any other responsibility that may be assigned by the scientist in furtherance of the cause of the institute.
REQUIREMENTS:
· M Sc (Plant Pathology/Microbiology/Botany/Plant Biotechnology) with at least one year experience in biocontrol aspects of plant pathogens
· Good proficiency in English communication skills (both written and spoken)
PERIOD AND REMUNERATION:
The position is on a fixed term contract basis for 3 years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation as permitted by DBT is offered for the right candidate.
