Interested and eligible candidates are invited for a Walk‐in‐Interview on the dates mentioned against each in the Library Hall of this Directorate for recruitment of two Research Associates, four Senior Research Fellows, and two Project Assistants as per the details given below:
1. POST NAME AND DATE OF WALK‐IN INTERVIEW: Senior Research Fellow (one position) Walk –in interview on 14.11.2011
PROJECT: Initiative on Nutritional Security through Intensive Millets Promotion(INSIMP) upto 31.03.2012.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRABLE EXPERIENCES: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Masters Degree in Agricultural Sciences (Economics/ Extension/Agronomy) or M.Sc. in Food Science/Food Technology or MABM or MBA with Advertisement and Marketing specialization or Micro Biology.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in FMCG/Food Sector. Knowledge in cultivation of field crops/cereals, extension services, computer skills, ability to analyse statistical data and demonstrated documentation skills.
SALARY PER MONTH: Rs. 16,000 per month +30% HRA
2. POST NAME AND DATE OF WALK‐IN INTERVIEW: Research Associate (two positions) Walk –in interview on 14.11.2011
PROJECT: NAIP on Millets Value Chain upto 31.03.2012.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRABLE EXPERIENCES : ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: a. M.Phil/MA in English or Economics with proven skills in documentation/technical writing b. Ph.D or M.Sc. Ag. (Agricultural Economics/Extension or any other Agricultural Sciences including Food Technology/ Sciences.)
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or Masters Degree with relevant experience. Knowledge in cultivation of field crops/cereals, extension services, computer skills, ability to analyse statistical data and demonstrated documentation skills, experience in project co‐ordination works.
SALARY PER MONTH: Rs.23,000 per month + 30% HRA
3. POST NAME AND DATE OF WALK‐IN INTERVIEW: Senior Research Fellow (1 position) Walk‐in interview

PROJECT: NAIP Project on “Bioprospecting of genes and allele mining for abiotic stress (moisture stress) tolerance in Sorghum” upto 31.03.2012.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRABLE EXPERIENCES: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: M.Sc. with first division or 60% in
Genetics/Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Botany.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Familiar with all molecular techniques and knowledge of computer applications in biotechnology.
SALARY PER MONTH: Rs.16,000 Per month +30% HRA (without NET/ GATE) Rs.18,000 Per month + 30% HRA (with NET/GATE)
4. POST NAME AND DATE OF WALK‐IN INTERVIEW: Research Fellow (2 positions) Walk –in interview on 16.11.2011
PROJECT: DBT Project on “Molecular characterizationof Sorghum sterility including cytoplasms and mapping fertility restoration genes” upto 31.08.2014.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRABLE EXPERIENCES: SPECIALISATION: Masters Degree in Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: M.Sc. with first division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and experience in use of molecular markers for marker assisted selection (markers, mapping populations, linkage maps, gene/QTL mapping), PAGE/Agarose electrophoresis, genotyping, use of bioinformatics tools, primer designing etc. Experience in handling field and lab experiments, documentation of field and lab data sets, use of computer applications.
SALARY PER MONTH: Rs.18,000 Per month + 30% HRA (for Post Graduates registered for Ph.D.
Rs.16,000 Per month + 30% HRA (for Post Graduates not registred for Ph.D)
5. POST NAME AND DATE OF WALK‐IN INTERVIEW: Project Assistants(2positions) Walk‐in interview On 16.11.2011
PROJECT: DBT Project on “Molecular characterization of Sorghum sterility including cytoplasms and mapping fertility restoration genes” upto 31.08.2014.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRABLE EXPERIENCES: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: A minimum pass in Intermediate. However, Graduates/Diploma holders in Agricultural Sciences or related subjects with experience are encouraged.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION: Working experience in Sorghum breeding activities, in the conduct of field and pot experimentation, crop raising, crop management and post harvest activities. Experience in field data recording, use of computers for data digitization. Should be able to attend the works as and when assigned by the PI.
SALARY PER MONTH:Rs.8,000 (fixed) per month
The above positions are purely temporary and on co‐terminus basis for the period of the project. The candidates shall submit the application at the time of interview in the proforma enclosed along with a passport size photograph, attested copies of requisite marksheets, certificates and supporting documents. They have to produce all the original certificates at the time of interview for verification. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Decision of the Director, DSR is final and binding in all respects.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. The maximum age limit is 35 years with relaxation for Women, SC, ST and OBC candidates as per the Government of India norms.
2. The selected candidate shall not claim for regular appointment/absorption in DSR or funding agency at the end of the project.
3. Canvassing in any form is A FATAL DISQUALIFICATION.
