IIIT-B invites applications for faculty positions, from those with a strong commitment to teaching and research, in the following areas (with expertise that includes, but is not limited to):
- Computer Science and Engineering (discrete mathematics and formal methods, cryptography, algorithms, operating systems, compilers, computer architecture and performance modeling, distributed computing, artificial intelligence, image processing, graphics)
- Data and Information Engineering (information search and retrieval, data mining andwarehousing, document engineering, enterprise and geographical information systems, multi-agent systems, BIOINFORMATICS)
- Software Engineering (programming languages, object oriented analysis and design, software architecture, patterns, and testing)
- Communications and Networking (digital and analog communication, signal processing, wireless access networks, mobile computing, multimedia systems, ad-hoc and sensor networks, industrial informatics and process automation)
- Embedded Systems and VLSI (real time systems, IC design and electronic design automation)
- Information Technology and Society (economics of information technology, social and spatial impacts of information technology, information and communications technologies for development, intellectual property)
Applicants who have either earned a PhD, or will do so shortly, in computer science, electronics and electrical engineering, or in any relevant area in the applied physical sciences, are welcome to apply. Applicants with a PhD in the social sciences, with relevant experience, will also be considered for the Information Technology and Society area. In addition to applications at the assistant professor level, those with a distinguished teaching and research record are welcome to apply for associate and full professor positions. Applications are also welcome for visiting and adjunct professor positions. In rare circumstances, the PhD requirement may be relaxed for those with exceptional professional accomplishments.
