Applications are invited for award of the following Research Associateship (Post Doctoral Fellows) in various Schools/Centres of the University with the qualifications/specializations as indicated against each:

SCHOOL OF BIOTECHNOLOGY

1.    Research Associate                                                                  (Reserved for SC)

Essential:   M.Sc. and Ph. D. in any area of biological sciences/biotechnology.

Desirable:  Post-doctoral research experience/teaching experience at post-graduate level.        

GENERAL

Eligibility: Research Associateships (Post Doctoral Fellows as per XIth Plan guidelines) are intended for researchers, preferably below the age of 45 years as on 1^st July of the year of Award (55 years in case of women candidates), who have obtained a Doctorate degree, have published research work to their credit and have already shown evidence of independent research work.   

Scale of Pay:  Selected candidates may be awarded Research Associateship (Post Doctoral Fellows) on their merit, with fixed emoluments of Rs. 12,000/- per month. (*Emoluments under the UGC’s Area Studies Programme is Rs. 16,000/- per month).  In addition to the fixed pay, they will be entitled to House Rent allowance on the same basis as admissible to other staff of the University. The Research Associateship carries an annual contingency grant of Rs. 7,500/- per annum for approved contingent expenditure in case of Humanities & Social Sciences and Rs. 10,000/- per annum in case of Science and Technology. The Award will be initially for a period of three years, extendable for another term not exceeding two years except for post No. 5 & 6.

The University reserves the right to: (a) relax any of the requirements; (b) draw reserve panel(s) against the possible vacancies in the future; (c) consider the applications received after the last date; (d) consider “in-absentia” the candidature of those who may not have applied; may have applied for higher position; or who may have applied but are not able to appear for the interview; (e) relax any of the qualifications/experience at its discretion; and (f) not to fill up any of the advertised positions.

Relaxation in educational qualifications, experience, age, etc. in the case of reserved category candidates will be given as per rules.
