One Junior / Senior Research Fellow required for the project entitled “Molecular action of Cocos nucifera water on radiation induced oxidative damage and cellular signaling” funded by the Coconut Development Board , Govt. of India ( For 1 Year ,extendable only after evaluation) in the Department of Physiology , University of Calcutta .

ELIGIBILITY :-

(I) FOR JRF

First Class M.Sc. in any branch of life Science with NET Qualification . Candidates having M.Sc. degree with NET ( Lectureship) / Valid GATE qualification may also apply for JRF ship.

( II) FOR SRF

First Class M.Sc. in any branch of Life Science with two years research experience as evidenced by published papers or M.Tech. in Biotechnology with GATE qualified.

Candidates having research experience on cell cultures Molecular Biology Technology Radium Biology, Animal Handing skill are prefered.

FELLOWSHIP: Rs. 16000/- +adm. allowance in the slab of 16000 - 16000-18000 for NET qualified Candidates. Otherwise fellowship will be Rs. 12000/- in slab of Rs. 12000-12000-14000/- for JRF ship.

In case of SRF fellowship will be Rs. 18000/- + adm. allowances as per norms of C.U. & also as per sanction of funding agency.

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the award of Senior Research Fellowship and Post- Doctoral Fellowships in the disciplines of Botany, Geology, Optoelectronics, Physics and Zoology under the PURSE programme. The Fellowships are initially for one year but may be extended till the completion of the PURSE programme.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Senior Research Fellowship: M.Sc/M.Tech in the concerned subject or its equivalent with not less than 60% of marks. Those who are currently registered for Ph.D programme and which has relevance to the thrust areas of the PURSE programme will be preferred.

2. Post-Doctoral Fellowship: Ph.D in the concerned subject or its equivalent with good academic record at Masters level. Those who have obtained Ph.D in an area which has relevance to the thrust areas of the PURSE programme will be preferred.
