Walk-in interview for Research Intern at CSIR

Walk-in-Interview on 6th March 2012 For the posts of Research Intern
(Registration Time 9:30am-11:00am)
1. Recruitment and Assessment Board (RAB), Delhi
POSITION CODE: DJIA/RAB Number of Positions: 02 (Two)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 60% marks in M Sc (Natural Sciences)/ MBA
DESIRABLE / ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Analytical, comprehension and writing skills, Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point etc) is a must and working knowledge of DBMS like My SQL etc is preferable. Some experience in Human Resource Management related activities is preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENT: Selected Interns would be required to assist the scientists in the various assignments related to Recruitment and Assessment of scientists in CSIR. Selected candidates will also be required to participate in studies on Human resource management with a focus on Recruitment and promotional policies.
2. International Science and Technology Affairs Division (ISTAD), Delhi
POSITION CODE: DJIA/ISTAD No of positions: 01 (one)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Minimum 60% marks in MCA or BE/B. Tech (IT) or M. Sc. Natural Science with strong IT background.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
a. Formulation of policy including guidelines for foreign visits by CSIR Scientists and CSIR Hq. laboratories networking;
b. To develop and establish linkages through bilateral partners abroad (collaborative projects & exchange programs);
c. To scout for and encourage labs to develop bilateral/multilateral technical assistant projects/programmes;
d. Human Resource Development through international fellowships, study leave, training courses including equipment training;
e. Exploit CSIR trainer potential for the developing world.
3. Innovation Protection Unit (IPU), Delhi
POSITION CODE: DJIA/IPMD No of positions: 04 (four)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Minimum 60% marks in M.Sc./BE/BTech in Molecular Biology, Bio-informatics, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Electrical/ Mechanical engg.
DESIRABLE/ADDITIONAL SKILLS (COMMON FOR ALL POSTS): Analytical, comprehension and writing skills Working knowledge of DBMS like My SQL, MS SQL, and programming languages like Visual Basic, PHP, ASP, etc.
Experience in IP related matters will be preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENT: Selected interns would be required to assist the scientists in the various assignments related to IP management. Selected candidates will be given an opportunity to have necessary hands-on training in the area of IP management.
GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ALL THE ABOVE POSITIONS
(i) Eligibility: 1st class or equivalent GPA in the above mentioned degree examinations. (ii) Max. Age: 25 years as on 6th March 2012 (Relaxation up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/OBC, Physically Handicapped and Female candidates).
(iii) Stipend: Rs.15000/- per month (fixed) (iv) Tenure: Maximum two years from the date of joining and is not extendable under any circumstances. Performance of the interns will be reviewed every six month. In case the performance is not satisfactory, the internship will be terminated with one months notice or one months stipend in lieu thereof. During the internship period the intern would be free to appear for NET/GATE and secure regular fellowship for doing Ph. D. (v) Selection will be based on overall academic records and performance in the interview.
(vi) TA/ DA will not be paid for the attending the interview.

Head (Imaging Core Facility) vacancy at Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB)

The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB) invites applications for the position as head of the imaging facility.
POST: Head of the Imaging Core Facility (m/f)
FIELD OF WORK:
The facility currently houses microscopes with live cell imaging, confocal laser scanning and spinning disk systems. It provides high quality service for a wide range of users and applications.
The prospective head of the facility will be responsible for the general management and development of the facility in accordance with the needs of the MPIB research groups. Main duties of the role include training and advising both new and experienced users in a variety of bioimaging methods and assisting the scientists in developing suitable experimental setups. Therefore, hands-on experience in image acquisition and data processing is essential. The head of the facility will be supported by a staff with extensive physical-technical expertise in imaging technology and software. A competitive budget will be provided to expand the existing instrumentation and make sure that the facility keeps abreast of emerging technologies.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates should hold a PhD and have experience in natural sciences with a profound knowledge of their field. We seek innovative leaders with a keen interest in teaching and supervising the facility users and with strong organizational and English communication skills. Management experience is advantageous, but not required.
OFFER:
Remuneration will be based on qualifications and the salary structure of the TVöD (public service tariff scale). The initial contract is limited to two years. Conversion to permanent employment may follow, depending on mutual agreement.
