Research (Ph.D.) Programme 2012–13
Institute for Social and Economic
Change (ISEC) invites application for the Ph.D. degree in the following
disciplines: (a) Agricultural Economics or Rural Development; (b) Development
Studies; (c) Economics; (d) Education; (e) Ecological/Environmental
Economics/Natural Resource Economics; (f) Political Science/International
Relations/Public Administration; (g) Population/Demographic Studies and (h)
Sociology/Social Anthropology. All applications must meet the following
criteria to be considered for ISEC Ph.D. programme and research fellowships:
(i) Master’s degree or equivalent in any of the above disciplines with at least
55 per cent of marks in the aggregate (50% in case of SC/ST applicants); (ii) A
pass in UGC-NET or JRF or SLET or M.Phil. is desirable; (iii) Age limit for ICSSR
fellowships – below 35 years, 40 years in case of teachers and members of
professional staff in research institutes. For the award of Ph.D. degree, ISEC
is affiliated to Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Osmania Universities and the
National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Application form can be

proposal sent with the application. Completed application with requisite
