Walk-in for JRF(High temperature stress response in rice) at IARI, New Delhi


WALK-IN INTERVIEW

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE

A walk in interview for filling up the temporary position of Junior Research Fellow (1 post) in DST sponsored project on “ High temperature stress response and associated changes in growth and yield of rice (Oryza sativa L.)” will be held on 17-7-2012 at 10.30 AM in the room of Head, Division of Agricultural Physics, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi 110012.
The position is available to conduct research on the effect of climate change on rice, characterize heat shock proteins etc. Responsibilities and duties include raising the rice plants under different temperature conditions, design and execution of experiments, data management and facilitating lab operations.
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. in Plant Biotechnology/Environmental science/Plant Biochemistry/Plant Physiology preferably with research experience in rice Biotechnology, climate change, physiology and microbial analysis.
Desirable qualifications: Strong demonstrated background in biochemical techniques, gel electrophoresis, rice physiology and Biotechnology, excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of computer and bioinformatics tools.
Remunerations: Rs.16,000/- (consolidated) per month + HRA as applicable.
Terms and Conditions:
1. AGE: The upper age limit is 35 years; relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/PH/ex-Servicemen as per Govt. of India instructions
2. No objection certificate from employer in case he/she is employed.
3. The period of engagement of Junior Research Fellow will be initially for a period of 1 year 3 months. There is no provision for re-engagement.
4. Position is purely time bound, non-regular and on co-terminus basis with the project. The selected candidate shall have no legal right to claim regularization by absorption or otherwise against any regular posts or any further contractual engagement on termination of the project.
5. Candidate may appear for interview with bio-data, photographs and certificates of qualifications (from class Xth onwards) with one set of Xerox copy duly attested, two testimonials of character from gazetted officer
6. Candidates reaching after the specified timing will not be entertained.
7. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature.
8. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
