Jamia Hamdard is internationally known for Pharmaceutical Education and Research. The University is focussed on healthcare education. In order to meet growing demand of trained manpower in Clinical Research as India has become of hub of Clinical Trials, Jamia Hamdard started a full-time M.Sc. programme in Clinical Research in 2009. This programme envisages imparting theory and practical training in all aspects of clinical research viz., concepts in clinical research, ethical and regulatory aspects, designs of clinical trials, planning and co-ordination of trial site, data management, biostatistics relevant to clinical research and pharmacology. The programme offers opportunity to individuals desirous of pursuing a career in expanding healthcare sector in India and abroad. The course runs in collaboration with reputed organizations such as Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. and Max Healthcare Institute Ltd. Students enrolled in this programme get a comprehensive hands-on on-site 8-weeks training at facilities of these organizations.
The key features of training include:
• Designing protocols for clinical trials, screening and recruitment of volunteers for BA/BE studies, informed consent process
• Co-ordination in BA/BE studies, site resource requirements, trial monitoring and clinical operations
• Pharmacovigilance: Causality assessment, ADR monitoring
• Regulatory affairs management: Submission of dossier to Regulatory Agencies
• Live sit-in in Institutional Review Board (IRB) for ethical clearance of projects
• Clinical study report preparation, data handling and data management
• Analysis of biological samples through LC-MS
• Communications skills, seminars and assignment
• In the fourth semester students complete project work of one semester at reputed industry/institute in the field of clinical research
Our students are successfully placed in reputed industry/Institutes such as Novartis, Max Heathcare Ltd., Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Medanta, Fortis, Auriga, Panacea Biotec
ELIGIBILITY: Candidates with atleast 55% marks in aggregate having qualification of MBBS/BDS/ BAMS/BUMS/B.V.Sc./B.Pharm./BOT/BPT/B.Sc.(Nursing)/ B.Sc. with Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology,Zoology, Pharmacology and Toxicology as one of the subjects. Candidates with Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing will be given preference.
